Hulk vs Doomsday: Who Would Win? Marvel’s Clear Choice Revealed

Hulk vs Doomsday: Who Would Win? Marvel’s Clear Choice Revealed

In the illustrious worlds of Marvel and DC Comics, two towering figures stand out: Hulk and Doomsday. These colossal characters possess immense strength and, when triggered by their fierce tempers, can unleash even greater forces. Fans often wonder: who would emerge victorious in a monumental clash between Hulk and Doomsday? Fortunately for fans, both Marvel and DC have hinted at the outcome, and it is a result that resonates well within their narratives.

The Hulk debuted in 1962’s The Incredible Hulk #1, created by the legendary Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, while Doomsday was introduced in 1992’s Superman: The Man of Steel #17 by Louise Simonson and Jon Bogdanove. Both characters embody raw power, and their brute force can either save the world or lay waste to it, symbolizing two contrasting responses to their incredible capabilities.

Despite never having met in an official Marvel vs. DC crossover, hints have been dropped about their prowess. For instance, in the 1993 issue Hulk #413, Bruce Banner takes down a character reminiscent of Doomsday. Furthermore, the 2019 publication Doomsday Clock #12 explicitly acknowledged that the Hulk possesses greater strength than Doomsday, solidifying the argument for Hulk’s supremacy.

Marvel’s Hulk Would Triumph Over DC’s Doomsday in Battle

Hulk and Doomsday Have Yet to Encounter Each Other in Comics

In the aforementioned Hulk #413, Banner is depicted as Smart Hulk during a simulated training session, easily dispatching foes—including one that bears a striking resemblance to Doomsday. This virtual encounter emphasizes Hulk’s dominance when he dismissively quips, “Oh, be quiet,” while effortlessly vanquishing the gray monster. Conversely, the final chapter of Doomsday Clock forebodes a future “Secret Crisis” where an unnamed “green behemoth” outmatches even Doomsday and sacrifices itself to save Superman, further underscoring Hulk’s overwhelming strength.

Interestingly, a historical encounter illustrates Batman’s ability to subdue the Hulk. In 1981’s DC Special Series #27 – Batman vs. The Incredible Hulk, the Green Goliath is rendered unconscious by a hefty dose of gas and a well-placed bat-kick. This raises questions about the Hulk’s capability against Doomsday: if a mere human can conquer him, how does Hulk’s raw power stack up? It’s essential to note, however, that Hulk was outsmarted rather than overpowered. Thus, in a genuine faceoff with Doomsday, Hulk’s might could very well dominate.

Hulk’s Superior Strength Could Challenge Superman

Adding another layer to this hypothetical encounter, Hulk’s strength amplifies with his anger. Should he face Doomsday, it’s likely this relentless foe would frustrate him, igniting Hulk’s fury to unprecedented levels. Although it seems clear who would emerge as the victor in this legendary clash, the reality of their battle dynamics could yield unpredictable results. The ultimate showdown could only be definitively settled through an official Marvel vs. DC crossover event, sparking fans’ long-held desires for a definitive outcome.

For those interested in revisiting these issues, Hulk #413 is available from Marvel Comics, alongside Doomsday Clock #12 from DC Comics.
