The first episode of season 50 was hosted by the Emmy-winning Jean Smart from Hacks, accompanied by musical guest Jelly Roll.
Upcoming episodes for October feature comedian Nate Bargatze as host with Coldplay as the musical guest, alongside appearances by Ariana Grande and Stevie Nicks on October 12, Michael Keaton and Billie Eilish on October 19, and John Mulaney with Chappell Roan on November 2.
Returning to lead the popular segment Weekend Update are co-hosts Michael Che and Colin Jost. The season will also showcase recurring cast members such as Heidi Gardner, Kenan Thompson, Chloe Fineman, Marcello Hernandez, Sarah Sherman, Mikey Day, Bowen Yang, Ego Nwodim, James Austin Johnson, Andrew Dismukes, Michael Longfellow, and Devon Walker.
