How to unlock Class Mastery in Last Epoch

Last Epoch presents players with a selection of five unique playable classes, each with its own gameplay style, passive tree, and skills. While players have the option to choose from multiple classes, unlocking Mastery is necessary to access them.

Masteries are not readily accessible upon starting the game; they are only unlocked after investing a considerable amount of time.

To access your Mastery Class in Last Epoch, you will need to progress through the main campaign until completing Chapter 2.

In Chapter 2, you will begin by teleporting to the Ruined Era. Here, your ultimate task is to defeat The Husk Of Elder Pannion, the final boss. Upon completing this battle, you will be transported to the End of Time Era through a portal. To find The Forgotten Knight, head to the northwest of your spawn point and follow the spiral path behind the Gambler. Once you encounter her, she will offer you a quest titled “The Power of Mastery”.

Upon agreeing to the quest, The Forgotten Knight will lead you to Elder Gaspar. To locate him, head towards the left, passing by the vendors, and ascend the staircase made of floating rocks to the second level. You will easily spot Elder Gaspar, as he will have a golden marker above his head. After speaking with Gaspar, you will have the option to select a Mastery class.

After unlocking your Mastery, you will gain access to its Mastery Skill right away. However, in order to unlock the other exclusive skills of the Mastery, you will need to invest Passive Points into the tree. A minimum of 20 points must be spent on your base class skill tree. These points can be earned through quest completion and leveling up. By following the main storyline and completing a few optional side quests that award Passive points, you should have approximately 19-20 points available by that time.

In Last Epoch, players can choose from three masteries for each class. Below is a comprehensive list of all Mastery Classes available.

Class Mastery Class
Sentinel Paladin, Void Knight, and Forge Guard
Mage Runemaster, Spellblade, and Sorcerer
Primalist Shaman, Beastmaster, and Druid
Acolyte Lich, Necromancer, and Warlock
Rogue Falconer, Marksman, and Bladedancer

Please note that the selection of your class’s mastery is final and cannot be changed once made. Therefore, it is important to choose carefully from the three available options. If you wish to try a different Mastery Class, you will need to begin a new game and complete the entire process again, until you reach the end of Chapter 2 and make your mastery selection.
