How to Obtain the EXPcalibur Sword in Dying Light: The Beast

In the latest installment of Dying Light: The Beast, players can once again pursue the legendary EXPcalibur Sword, a fan-favorite weapon that has become a part of the series lore. Although it makes a comeback from the original game, its resurrection involves a series of quests that add a layer of challenge to obtaining it.

To claim the EXPcalibur and its blueprint, players must embark on a quest to uncover eight stone sigils scattered throughout the game world. For your convenience, this guide details the locations of these sigils as well as how to access the coveted sword.

Stone Sigil: Sacrifice

Your journey begins at a prominent exhibit site known for its stone hedge formations, located in the National Park region of Castor Woods. To find the first stone, navigate to the site marked on your map. The Sacrifice Stone can be found hidden behind one of the pillars, cloaked in vines. Approach carefully to ensure you can collect it easily.

Stone Sigil: Witch’s Mark

The next sigil, aptly named the Witch’s Mark, is conveniently close to the last. Travel to the spot indicated on the map near a serene river. You’ll notice a quaint stone cabin nearby. Drop into the water, enter the cabin, and search the right wall to find the Witch’s Mark stone embedded there. Beware of zombies lurking within!

Stone Sigil: The Void

Not far from the Witch’s Mark, you’ll encounter the Void sigil. This location requires a bit of agility: proceed to the designated waterfalls and look for a hidden cave behind the first waterfall on your left.Inside, be cautious of exploding boomer infected lurking in the shadows.

After dispatching any threats, search the shallow pond at the cave’s end on the left side to find the sigil resting upon an antler skull. Use your Survivor Senses to pinpoint it before diving to retrieve it, but be aware of potential glitches that may hinder your escape!

Stone Sigil: The Moon

This next sigil can be found in a familiar locale if you’ve completed the ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ side quest. It’s situated in the same secluded spot where you encounter Starchild. Navigate through a narrow gap, turn right, and kindly pick up the Moon stone sigil from a moss-laden rock adorned with bones.

Stone Sigil: Death

The next sigil takes you on a journey to Old Town. Reach the location marked on your map, near a stairwell that descends to a cellar.Inside, maneuver carefully through a narrow passage to access a crypt containing sleeping infected.

The Death sigil awaits on a statue within the crypt, identifiable via your Survivor Senses. Proceed with caution to not alert the lingering infected around!

Stone Sigil: Blood

For the Blood sigil, head to St. Valentine’s Asylum.Just outside the main building, you can find the stone gracefully positioned on a fountain statue. Do take care, as you may encounter a multitude of infected in the area.

Stone Sigil: Curse

Return to the tree visited during the Starchild side quest to find the Curse sigil.I’ve pinpointed the tree’s location on the map for your reference. Circle around the tree to discover a skeleton etched into the ground, which must be collected by crouching down, as the interact prompt may not activate otherwise.

Stone Sigil: Shadow

Your final sigil rests within the Exiled Cave, which you’ll encounter during the ‘Some Like it Dark’ main story quest.Upon entering the camp, look to the right; it has been placed next to some candles. This stone concludes our search for the sigils.

How To Find & Claim EXPcalibur II

With all eight stone sigils completed, it’s time to unlock the EXPcalibur Sword. Proceed to the location marked on the map, where you will find a large rock structure ready to be scaled.Climb the roots, swing through the branches, and ascend to the top.

To break open the curse sealing the sword, place each stone sigil into the designated spots emanating smoke. Upon successfully positioning all sigils, brace yourself for a surprise challenge—a military zombie will spawn that you must defeat.

Once you have triumphed over this foe, the final step awaits: claiming your sword. However, extracting EXPcalibur requires a bit of patience.Press and hold the interact button for several minutes until the reticle fills, then press it once more to ultimately claim the EXPcalibur II Sword, along with its crafting blueprint.

Unfortunately, unlike its predecessor, this iteration does not possess the capability to launch zombies like a projectile. Still, it holds significant damage potential, and should its durability wear down, you can craft a replacement or return to claim another one later through respawning or duplication methods courtesy of fellow players.
