One of the primary benefits that PCs offer over consoles is the ease of accessing mods. These modifications can enhance gameplay by incorporating popular features and improvements, often without needing developers to release official updates. This flexibility allows players to tailor their gaming experience to their liking.
In the case of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (KCD 2), PC gamers are particularly lucky. A vibrant modding community has already evolved around its predecessor, KCD 1, and many modders have now turned their talents toward the sequel. This transition promises a wealth of enhancements and additions that will enhance player experiences in the new title.
Installing Mods in KCD 2

Installing mods in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a straightforward process. Follow these steps to enhance your gaming experience:
- Locate the game directory for KCD 2. If you have it via Steam, this can usually be found at \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance2.
- Create a new folder within this directory and name it Mods (do not include apostrophes).
- Visit the Nexus Mods page for KCD 2 to explore available modifications.
- Navigate to the mod’s home page and click on the Files tab adjacent to the ‘Description’ section.

- Unzip the downloaded file using software such as 7zip, and place the extracted contents into the Mods folder you created earlier.
To download mods from Nexus Mods, you must have an account. While Slow Download options are accessible to all users, Fast Download is reserved for premium subscribers, costing $7.50 monthly.
Finding the KCD 2 Installation Folder on PC
If you’re having difficulty locating the installation folder, both Steam and Epic Games provide easy access:
- For Steam users, right-click on KCD 2 in your library, then select Manage > Browse Local Files.
- If you’re using Epic Games, click the three dots beneath the KCD 2 title in your Library, then select Manage > Open Install Location.
Note that some KCD 2 mods may not adhere to the typical installation process, requiring modifications to game files like user.cfg or the addition of third-party software such as ReShade. For these specific modifications, carefully read the installation instructions available under the Descriptions Tab.
