Minecraft was given a major update as an April Fools’ joke, much to the delight of everyone. The latest updates introduced a variety of additions such as new features, mobs, items, and even five unique biomes to the game. Among these, the floatater block and lashing potato stand out as some of the most intriguing and beneficial additions to the game, despite their silly names.
Therefore, how does one obtain the floatater block and what are its specific purposes?
The Floater Block in Minecraft
The floatater is a block found in Minecraft that functions as a powered rocket block when activated by a redstone signal. It has the ability to transport other blocks, items, and players. This allows players to stand on top of it and ascend by activating the signal. However, it should be noted that these features are experimental and only apply within the poisonous potato dimension.
This block is versatile and can be used to move items in a single direction. Its popular use is for creating rocket ships, but it can also transport other blocks and items, including TNT, to make a missile. A Minecraft player has already utilized this block to construct a missile.
The floatater resembles a combination of a smoker and a quartz block, but interestingly enough, neither of these components is required to craft it. To create this captivating new block, you will need poisonous potatoes, a hot potato, and a floatato. However, it is important to note that the floatato is not identical to the floatater.
To create a floatato, combine eight poisonous potatoes and a Ghast tear in the crafting grid, with the tear at the center. An intriguing aspect of the floatato is its ability to produce clouds within the poisonous potato dimension.
After obtaining the floatato, creating the floatater is the next step. While the names may be similar, you will become accustomed to distinguishing between them. Begin by opening the crafting table and arranging three poisonous potatoes on the top row of the grid. Then, place a hot potato in the center and surround it with five floatato on the remaining grid spaces. This simple process will result in successfully obtaining the floatater in Minecraft.
Surprisingly, the team at Mojang Studios has dedicated a significant amount of effort to the April Fools’ update. It’s thrilling to imagine what else we can expect in the upcoming Minecraft 1.21 update before its official launch.
