How to Find the Signal Redirector in Atomfall

In the expansive universe of Atomfall, players are presented with various essential items to discover, among which is the Signal Redirector. This sophisticated device allows users to hack and reroute power junctions, making it a highly sought-after tool within the game.

Acquiring the Signal Redirector requires players to navigate two distinct approaches: venturing to the fortified Skethermoor Prison or tracing the steps of a character named June. Below, we provide a comprehensive guide to both methods, illustrating exactly how to secure the Signal Redirector in Atomfall.

Where to Find the Signal Redirector in Atomfall

The Signal Redirector can be accessed via two primary routes in Atomfall. Your choice of method may depend on the leads you’ve collected throughout your journey. Here, we outline both strategies for acquiring the Signal Redirector.

Method 1: Collaborating with Dr. Garrows

To secure the Signal Redirector with assistance from Dr. Garrows, your first step involves locating this esteemed scientist. Various leads scattered across Atomfall will guide you to Skethermoor Prison, where she is being detained by the Protocol forces.

The entrance to Skethermoor Prison is heavily fortified, posing a significant challenge. However, you can ease your access by gaining a favor from Captain Sims of the Protocol. This favor grants you a temporary pass, allowing you to explore the prison without immediate threat from its guards and automatons.

To impress Captain Sims and obtain this pass, visit him in the Village Hall located in Wyndham Village. He’ll offer assistance if you can provide intel on illicit activities happening in the area. Depending on your prior actions, you can choose from several tips to offer:

  • Report a murder occurred at the church.
  • Inform him that Morris Wick is a murderer.
  • Suggest looking into Iris the Baker’s husband.

After delivering this information, Captain Sims will direct you to Skethermoor Prison to discreetly interrogate Dr. Garrows, believing she may be more receptive to questioning from a stranger rather than one of his own. He will then hand you the necessary pass for safe entry.

Once you arrive at Skethermoor Prison, proceed inside and descend the stairs ahead. Enter the small room on your right to retrieve the Prison Security Keycard. For access to the Holding Cells, interact with the control panel located here to unlock the gate.

Proceed to the Lower Floor using the Security Keycard on the corresponding door and follow the signs leading to the Loading Bay, where you will find Dr. Garrows detained in a small cell.

Engage in conversation with Dr. Garrows. If you are interested in completing Captain Sims’ quest, extract some useful information regarding her confiscated device before offering to release her. She will disclose that the device in question is the Signal Redirector.

The next step is to retrieve this crucial device. Remain in the Loading Bay and locate the ‘Security’ room, where you will find the Signal Redirector positioned on a shelf.

If you plan to proceed with Dr. Garrow’s quest, utilize the Signal Redirector on the power junctions within the Control Room to unlock all prison cells.

Access the Electrical room through a small ledge adjacent to the Control Room (in the Loading Bay) and apply the Signal Redirector to the power junction to open the Control Room door.

With access granted, navigate into the Control Room and engage the lever on the control panel located at the top of the stairs to liberate all inmates. Be aware, however, that this action will provoke the guards and soldiers, so be ready for a fight.

If Dr. Garrow’s quest does not pique your interest, you may choose to abandon her and return to Captain Sims without further involvement.

Method 2: Following June’s Trail

June’s fate takes a dark turn in Atomfall, drawing intrigue about her true identity. A visit to The Little Tea Room in Wyndham Village—the charred remains of a building north of Grendel’s Head—yields June’s Key, marking the initiation of our alternative method for acquiring the Signal Redirector.

Next, head to the boathouse, which will now be marked on your map. Ensure you possess a metal detector for this phase; if you currently lack one, consider trading at one of the local vendors like Alf in Grendel’s Head to acquire it. This device is invaluable for uncovering buried treasures.

Employ the metal detector around the boathouse; once it signals with five red lights and emits a loud sound, begin excavation to uncover a cache. Inside, you will discover June’s Diary along with notes exposing some of the Protocol’s hidden practices, including the location of the BARD Safe Room in a Protocol Workshop in Skethermoor—our next destination.

Proceed to the Protocol Workshop, as indicated on the map below.

Within the Workshop, navigate right and then take a left to access the restroom. Here, you will find a gap to squeeze through, leading into a bathroom stall with a ledge to climb over.

Following your exploration of the Protocol Workshop, your next stop is the Protocol Field Station, located just south of the Ruined Hamlet in Skethermoor, marked on your map below.

Inside the Field Station, brace yourself for potential encounters with groups of soldiers—or consider a stealth approach to navigate the area. Within the storeroom, seek out the Windfall Crate.

To locate the Windfall Crate, proceed straight from the entrance, take a left turn, and look for a green metal door on your left, where the crate awaits.
