The recent Zen update in Grow a Garden introduces an exciting new feature: the Zen Shop, managed by the Brown Raccoon. This shop offers a selection of temporary items exclusively available for purchase with Chi Points, a unique secondary currency. In this article, we’ll explore how to acquire Chi Points and what you can do with them.
Acquiring Chi Points in Grow a Garden
Players can earn Chi Points by submitting plants or fruits carrying the tranquil mutation to the Brown Raccoon NPC at the Zen Shop. Follow these simple steps to start accumulating Chi Points:
- Navigate to the central area and locate the Brown Raccoon next to Unk the Monk NPC.
- Interact with the Raccoon by pressing ‘E‘, then choose the “Take all my Tranquil plants” option to submit all your qualifying fruits. Alternatively, select “Take this plant” to submit the specific fruit you are holding.
- Your reward, in the form of Chi Points, will depend on the rarity status of the plant submitted, as detailed in the upcoming section.
The Zen event occurs hourly, providing opportunities to obtain the Tranquil mutation. You can also acquire this mutation through the new Tanchozuru pet obtainable from the Zen egg and by applying the mutation to existing pets.

Another method to earn Chi Points involves submitting Tranquil mutated plants to Unk the Monk and nurturing the tree behind him. This action contributes to the progress bar above his head, elevating the Zen Tree Level and granting you various rewards, including Chi Points.

Chi Points Values in Grow a Garden
Understanding the reward structure for Chi Points based on plant rarity is essential. Chi Points earned differ from Summer Coins, with each rarity yielding a specific amount of points. Here’s a breakdown of Chi Points earned for each rarity tier of plants you submit with the Tranquil mutation:
- Common: 1 Chi
- Uncommon: 2 Chi
- Rare : 3 Chi
- Legendary : 4 Chi
- Mythical: 5 Chi
- Divine : 6 Chi
- Prismatic: 7 Chi
- Transcendent : 8 Chi

Utilizing Chi Points
In Grow a Garden, Chi Points serve a singular purpose: to purchase exclusive items from the Zen Shop. The Zen Shop boasts a wide array of unique offerings, including Zen seed packs, various pets, Zen pet eggs, cosmetic crates, and gnome crates.

While earning Chi Points is the focus during the Zen event, Sheckles are less useful as you aim for these new points. However, you can still utilize Sheckles to replenish the Zen Shop’s stock, presenting further opportunities to acquire rare items.
Additionally, players have a chance to obtain the Kitsune pet, which has the ability to “steal”fruits from other gardens and apply the Chakra mutation to the stolen produce. Are you excited to unlock all the items available in the Zen Shop? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
