Fans of the Final Fantasy 16 PS5 game will not want to miss out on this opportunity, as it offers the chance to unlock amazing rewards. The event comprises of three quests and can be completed in under an hour. Don’t miss out!
There is a final boss battle, for which we will provide some quick tips on how to successfully defeat it.
Embarking on the FF14 x FF16 Crossover Event: A Fiery Adventure
Once you have reached level 50 and successfully finished the “The Ultimate Weapon”quest, you will be able to take part in the Final Fantasy 14 x FF16 event. When you feel ready, make your way to Ul’dah – Steps of Nald (X: 8.8, y: 9.8) and have a conversation with the Neophyte Adventurer.
You will have the opportunity to make a guess about the location where the event occurred. The correct answer is The Burning Wall, but even if you are mistaken, there are still intriguing options available. In the end, your task is to travel to The Burning Wall and engage with the quest objective that is nearby. From this vantage point, you will be able to interact with it. In case it is not visible (due to other players), simply press the “0”key on your numpad to target and interact with it.
To find Clive Rosfield from Final Fantasy 16, zoom in and scroll towards the bottom center of the screen. Left-click on the “Strange Man”to trigger a cutscene. After interacting with the cutscene, head to Ul’dah and wait at the designated location to complete this quest and continue the collaboration event for Final Fantasy 14.
Finishing the Pain to Recall Quest
The upcoming stage of the Final Fantasy 14 x FF16 event will occur at your current location. You will join forces with Clive and encounter glowing circles that initiate dialogues. Head to the nearby circle on the upper level and proceed to the chocokeep.
The upcoming quest will take place at the Adder’s Nest, where Clive will evoke memories with the help of Garuda, the Wind-themed boss. According to the Wandering Minstrel, Clive Rosfield may not be from our world. Upon completing the next conversation, the quest will be finished and the final quest, The Path Infernal, will be undertaken.
Conquering Ifrit – Conquering the Path Infernal
After completing the first cutscene of The Path Infernal, proceed to Apkallu Falls in Gridania. There, you will encounter the final stage of the Final Fantasy 14 x FF16 event – defeating Ifrit.
The game will teach you about two abilities: dodging and Rising Flames, a powerful dps move with a 30-second cooldown. Be strategic in its use. I played as a White Mage and found it relatively simple to complete. Many of the powerful AOEs will prompt you to dodge, followed by a counter attack (using the dodge button).
Clive will not need significant healing during the Final Fantasy 14 x FF16 collaboration event. When facing smaller AOEs, simply move out of the way, but for larger ones, dodge through and counterattack. At approximately 60-70% HP, an icon will appear prompting you to “Defend Clive”. Click on this and rapidly press buttons on your keyboard when prompted.
After a series of AOE attacks, closer to the boss’s defeat, you will receive another one of these. When the boss’s health is reduced to around 25%, a trio of swords will be summoned, which will release multiple growing AOE explosions. Under no circumstances should you stand in them. Move out of the way and focus on dealing as much damage as possible.
After a short period of time, Clive will utilize his Phoenix abilities to simplify this task. The final stage of this battle involves avoiding a variety of AOE attacks, including half-screen and circular ones. Simply dodge and attack, and the boss will be defeated.
The last part of the collaborative event between Final Fantasy 14 and FF16 will require you to return to The Burning Wall and follow Torgal. This faithful companion will guide you to the final encounter, signaling the completion of the quest.
Prizes for participating in the Final Fantasy 14 x FF16 crossover event
By participating in the Final Fantasy 14 x FF16 collaboration event, you will be rewarded with the Torgal cub minion, the Torgal wolfhound mount, and the Metian equipment collection (Clive’s armor). Additionally, the Torgal mount allows for petting while in use, solidifying its status as one of the top mounts in the game.
In addition to that, you can also acquire orchestrion rolls and a Triple Triad card at the Gold Saucer, which will amount to approximately 400K MGP in total.
