How to Care for Plants in Your Home Garden

The Seed Stage introduces an exciting new chapter in Grow a Garden, featuring a variety of fresh seeds, plants, pets, tools, and more. This update not only enriches the gameplay experience but also allows players to upgrade new seed types to cultivate higher-tier, rarer plants. To maximize the growth potential of these plants, players must employ specific tending techniques. This guide will walk you through the essential steps to care for the new Evo plants within the game.

How to Tend to Plants in Grow a Garden

Tending Evo Plants

Caring for plants in Grow a Garden is a straightforward task, but it does require a series of steps. Keep in mind that only Evo plant seeds can be tended following these methods. Successfully tending to these seeds increases your chances of yielding superior crops, which can be submitted during the Grow a Garden Seed Stages event for enhanced rewards and access to the next tier of seed.

Step 1: Plant Your Evo Seed

To begin, you need to plant an Evo seed. Regular seeds are not suitable for tending, so ensure you select these special seeds. You can acquire Evo seeds from the Seed Stages Merchant in the seed shop, where four types are available initially. The available Evo seeds include:

  • Evo Pumpkin I
  • Evo Mushroom I
  • Evo Beetroot I
  • Evo Blueberry I

The shop is regularly restocked, so visit frequently to ensure you don’t miss out on new seeds. You can upgrade your seeds to unlock higher stages. Plant your chosen Evo seed in your garden and choose either to wait for it to mature naturally or proceed to the next step of tending your plant.

Step 2: Utilize or Submit Gear

As seasoned players know, Grow a Garden gears play a crucial role in plant care. Applying gears to your Evo plants will expedite their growth just as it does for any regular plant. You can use the gears directly or move close to an Evo plant and hold the E key to activate the tending process. Below is a list of gear options that can enhance your plant care experience:

Gear Name Price Usage/Effects
Watering Can 50, 000 10 Uses – Speeds plant growth.
Basic Sprinkler 20, 000 Operates for 5 mins – Increases growth speed and fruit size.
Advanced Sprinkler 50, 000 Operates for 5 mins – Boosts growth and mutation rates.
Godly Sprinkler 100, 000 Operates for 5 mins – Speeds up growth and enhances mutations and fruit size.
Master Sprinkler 10, 000, 000 Operates for 10 mins – Maximizes growth, mutations, and fruit size.
Grandmaster Sprinkler 50, 000, 000 Operates for 10 mins – Significantly speeds up growth, mutations, and fruit size.

Step 3: Feed Plants for Larger Evo Growth

Interestingly, you can feed your Evo plants with other crops to enhance their size. The outcome will depend on the type and size of crops you feed them. Notably, Evo plants have the potential to inherit mutations from the crops they consume, allowing for customization and the possibility of multiple mutations simultaneously. For instance, an Evo Beetroot II may exhibit various mutations like Windstruck, Wet, and Cracked.

Mutated Evo Plant

To optimize the effects of mutations, we recommend using sprinklers prior to feeding your tending plants. This strategy enhances the mutation probability, allowing for a wider range of mutations on a single plant.

Once you’ve followed these steps, your Evo plant will be ready for harvest. You can choose to keep the plant as it is or collect its fruit and submit it to the Seed Stage NPC for rewards like the exclusive Jungle Egg in Grow a Garden.

If you’re fortunate enough to cultivate an Evo plant with rare mutations, consider leaving it in your garden. These plants yield only a single harvest, yet they add a unique aesthetic to your space. Additionally, you can use the Favorite Tool in Grow a Garden to prevent accidental plucking of these special plants. Even after harvesting, mark it as your favorite to avoid mistakenly selling it.

We’d love to hear about the mutations you discover on your Evo plants! Share your experiences in the comments below.
