Jessica Andrade, a former UFC women’s strawweight champion, is among the most seasoned female fighters on the promotion’s roster.

In her 12-year professional career, Andrade has competed in 37 matches and achieved an impressive record of 25 wins. Her professional debut took place in Brazil and she continued to fight for seven different promotions in her first seven bouts.

On Sep. 6, 2011, the Brazilian fighter had her first match against Weidy Borges and delivered a flawless performance, securing a TKO victory in the second round. However, her first defeat occurred in her third fight against Kinberly Novaes. Despite this loss, Andrade’s record in Brazil was still impressive with eight victories out of her first 10 fights, only suffering two defeats.

In 2013, Andrade signed with the UFC and quickly gained recognition, making her debut against Liz Carmouche. However, she suffered a defeat against Carmouche via second round TKO at UFC on Fox: Johnson vs. Moraga.

Since joining the UFC, ‘Bate Estaca’ has been a consistent member, competing in the bantamweight division before transitioning to the strawweight division in 2016.

In 2020, Andrade ascended to the flyweight division at UFC Fight Night: Ortega vs. The Korean Zombie and also contended for the championship.

Despite the Brazilian’s title reign being relatively short-lived, Zhang Weili was able to defeat her in just 42 seconds during Andrade’s first title defense.

Shortly after, she made her debut in the flyweight division and was granted a chance to compete for the title against Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 261. Despite her efforts, Andrade was ultimately outmatched by Shevchenko and suffered a TKO loss in the second round when the fight was called off.

Andrade is set to compete on the monumental UFC 300 early preliminary card in a strawweight fight against Marina Rodriguez.
