Despite being the second installment in the series, Horizon Forbidden West has had a highly successful launch on PC, with strong sales in the US during its initial week. This is a testament to the quality of the game developed by Guerrilla Games.
According to Mat Piscatella, Executive Director and Video Game Industry Analyst at Circana, Aloy’s second adventure ranked among the top ten best-selling games in the US for the week ending March 23rd. This was a significant jump from the previous week, where the game did not even make it to the top 100.
Another strong debut for a Sony title on PC… Horizon: Forbidden West was one of the US market’s top 10 best-selling games during the week ending March 23rd after not ranking among the top 100 during the prior week. (Source: Circana retail tracking service, dollar sales)

Next month, Ghost of Tsushima, a former PlayStation exclusive, will be launching on PC and is expected to be just as successful as Guerrilla’s game. We can also hope for a solid port, similar to the excellent job Nixxes did with the Horizon Forbidden West port, as pointed out by Alessio. 2024 is shaping up to be a great year for former PlayStation exclusives on PC.
Despite the immense and intricately designed open world present in Horizon Forbidden West, there is minimal stuttering and high-performing rigs can comfortably enable all graphics settings without concern for performance. In my case, utilizing a combination of DLSS Frame Generation and DLAA with my RTX 4090 GPU allowed me to maintain a consistent frame rate of over 70 frames per second at 4K resolution while achieving maximum visual quality.
The global release of Horizon Forbidden West on PC, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 is now live.
