“HONORING BTS LEGACY”- Fans Erupt with Pride as AMAs Feature BTS in Legendary Boy Band Tribute Video

The recent tribute video at the 2024 American Music Awards (AMAs), celebrating iconic boy bands, has sparked considerable excitement online, particularly due to the inclusion of BTS. Released on October 7, 2024, this special video marks the 50th season of the AMAs and pays homage to some of the most legendary boy bands in music history.

BTS was highlighted as the first boy band featured in the tribute, capturing the hearts of fans worldwide. Seven years prior, the group made their debut performance on an American stage with their hit song “DNA”at the AMAs, becoming the first K-pop group to take the stage at this prestigious event. In 2024, the AMAs honored them for their influential contributions to the music industry, notably as the sole Asian and K-pop representatives in the tribute video.

Fans took to social media to celebrate BTS’s recognition, reflecting on the group’s remarkable journey and expressing their pride in standing alongside giants in the western music arena, including NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Boyz II Men, New Edition, New Kids on the Block, and One Direction.

On the platform X (formerly Twitter), fans shared their excitement regarding the AMAs’ tribute to legendary boy bands.

“SAY THEIR NAME WITH RESPECT EXACTLY,”a fan proclaimed.

“Can you believe that just 4 years into their career, BTS made their American TV debut at the AMAs, and now, 11 years later, they are the first group highlighted in this tribute? They are truly All Time Legends,”remarked a user.

“The Biggest Group in the world has been honored in the AMAs tribute video celebrating the legacy of Boy Bands,”a fan added.

Netizens overwhelmingly praised the mention of BTS in the AMAs tribute video.

“They were the first K-pop group ever to perform at the AMAs, opening doors for all of K-pop. Korea’s pride is a real diamond in music. We’ll never forget this iconic band,”a fan expressed.

“This video showcases the boy bands that paved the way: Backstreet Boys, New Edition, New Kids On The Block, NSYNC, Boyz II Men, One Direction, and especially BTS, who not only led the way for boy bands but also created opportunities for K-pop artists globally,”a user noted.

Fans keenly observed that BTS was the only Asian boy band featured in the AMAs tribute video.

“This serves as a testament to how BTS is now permanently etched into music history as a group that broke down barriers and created a significant shift in the western music scene—an achievement they accomplished on their own,”a fan remarked.

“They are the only Asian and non-western boy group in this entire tribute video,”stated a user.
