In Hollow Knight: Silksong, players face a multitude of challenges, from relentless runbacks to formidable bosses and intense arena battles. Among these hurdles, the delivery quests can prove to be particularly vexing, especially the Courier’s Ration delivery. This quest not only tests your skills but also your patience as you navigate through tricky terrains under time constraints.
Upon completing the My Missing Brother quest, you’ll unlock the ability to undertake deliveries, transporting supplies to various NPCs across Pharloom. The twist? You must ensure your cargo remains intact while racing against the clock!
Successfully completing this delivery requires meticulously optimizing your route. Fortunately, we’ve crafted a comprehensive guide to help you navigate from point A to B efficiently, particularly for the challenging Courier’s Ration task.
Preparation for the Delivery
While the option to make this delivery becomes available relatively early in the game—especially if you’ve actively engaged in side quests—it’s crucial to equip yourself with certain movement abilities beforehand.
First, ensure you have completed the questlines My Missing Courier and My Missing Brother, both of which can be found in Bellhart. These quests are vital for unlocking delivery missions.
For enhanced mobility and to dodge the hostile creatures along your path, acquiring both the Clawline and Faydown Cloak prior to embarking on your delivery is recommended. The Clawline will facilitate enemy avoidance, while the Faydown Cloak is necessary for bypassing the Grand Gate.
To assist you in acquiring these valuable abilities, refer to the guides we’ve linked: one for the Clawline and another for the Faydown Cloak.
Furthermore, to boost your speed and ensure timely deliveries, consider traveling to Far Fields to obtain the Silkspeed Anklets using your Needolin ability. Keep in mind, though, you’ll require at least two Silk Hearts to maintain the necessary energy for consistent dashes and grapples.
Optimal Route for the Courier’s Ration
There are several routes to reach the ruined restaurant in the Choral Chamber; however, the path I recommend is both reliable and easy to conquer once mastered.
Begin your journey in the lower halls of Shellwood, skillfully avoiding airborne enemies with well-timed dashes and grapples. Progress until you arrive at the area directly under the Bell Station.
Here, execute a double jump followed by a pogo jump through the section adorned with white flowers. Be cautious of the yellow mist produced by insect enemies and utilize your grappling ability to escape the fog if necessary.
Continue beyond the Bell Station and ascend through the link to the Blasted Steps, taking care to sidestep hidden spikes along the way. Once in the Blasted Steps, your aim is to reach the upper right of the screen by first moving left to navigate your ascent strategically.
Employ double jumps and grapples to traverse initial heights, while keeping an eye out for shielded enemies. Wait for them to animate before using a harpoon or pogo maneuver to bypass them safely.
As you venture deeper into the Blasted Steps, you’ll likely encounter additional enemies. If you time your movements correctly, you can bypass these foes without confrontation. Upon reaching a larger area, your goal is to climb swiftly to the top, as lingering will attract the attention of drill flies.
Utilize walls and platforms to ascend quickly, gliding left when necessary to land on a secure ledge. Be alert for enemies above, but they often retreat in fear, allowing you to leap over them. Continue wall-jumping and maneuvering right, carefully avoiding spike traps.
This sequence leads you to the dreaded Last Judge boss runback. To navigate this section efficiently, a dash jump followed by another is essential to avoid the drill flies, allowing for a grapple double jump to skip several sections.
In the second part, glide towards the second bell, perform a pogo jump, and use your double jump and grapple to simplify these platforming challenges. Move right towards the Grand Gate.
Maintain a sprint until you’ve passed the Last Judge room. After one more burst of sprinting, look up and execute a double jump to reach the see-saw platforms. A Spool Fragment awaits above, but your priority is to locate the highest platform on the right wall, revealing a hidden breakable wall to access the Choral Chambers.
Within this concealed passage, be cautious not to dash into the immediately following spinning mechanism. Ascend upwards into the Chambers where you can choose between two routes.
The path leading to the Citadel Spa is viewed as safer, while the quicker route to the right is riskier but time-efficient. Decide based on the condition of your items. If you opt for the faster route, sprint to the right, dodging a trio of enemies with a well-timed grapple, and ascend until you encounter a sign for Ventrica Station. Proceed right once again.
On the following screen, avoid another trio of adversaries and pull a lever to access a dark area, circumventing an enemy emerging from the ground. Climb to a higher platform and interact with another lever to exit. Employ a grapple to evade yet another set of enemies.
Your ascent through this vertical section necessitates sharp reflexes; avoid enemies animating on the platforms as you aim for the highest exit to the left. Time is of the essence, as being swarmed can lead to your demise.
Don’t forget to steer clear of the pinhead bug while you rise, disregarding higher-platform enemies, and navigate back through a previously activated shortcut to reach the area on the right.
The conclusion of your delivery is near—jump through the concealed passage directly above and sprint through the restaurant to meet the NPC, completing the Courier’s Ration delivery and progressing in the Great Taste of Pharloom quest.
Tips for an Efficient Delivery

If you still find yourself struggling to deliver without damaging your cargo excessively, consider the following strategies:
- When surrounded by multiple enemies, utilize ranged tools or Thread Storm to carve out a path for yourself.
- Taking one hit isn’t a dealbreaker; you can still complete the delivery. However, if you’re hit twice, it’s often quicker to respawn (don’t forget to rest at the Bellhart Bench!).
- If a specific segment of the map proves challenging, practice navigating that area repeatedly for better proficiency.
- Employ The Crest of the Reaper to help make pogo jumps more manageable and reliable.
- Ensure you’ve unlocked all areas of the map, including hidden pathways at the Grand Gate and various levers in the Choral Chambers for seamless navigation.
