Hollow Knight: Silksong Guide to All Mister Mushroom Locations

Hollow Knight: Silksong Guide to All Mister Mushroom Locations

The enigmatic Mushroom Man returns in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

For those who have achieved the passing of the age in the original Hollow Knight, you undoubtedly recall the arduous search for that elusive mushroom. It was certainly not an easy task!

You might think the quest in Silksong is less daunting, but prepare yourself: the final location will truly challenge your platforming abilities. While it may not be as tough as the Path of Pain, it closely resembles it.

For those who prefer to skip Mr. Mushroom’s typically vague riddles, here are the seven locations you’ll need to explore!

Unraveling the Poem

Before embarking on this whimsical quest, you must first locate a comparatively hidden spot in the far corner of the map.

Navigate to the Putrified Ducts, proceeding past Fleatopia and across the lake. Just before you enter the small cave that holds Craftmetal, jump up the wall until you find a small platform lit by sunlight.

Use the Silk Soar ability to ascend to the cave’s summit, where you’ll encounter a hidden area adorned with mushrooms reminiscent of those from the original Hollow Knight.

Approach the tablet and read the inscription to prompt the Quest to begin.

Moss Grotto

Your first stop is the Bone Bottom Bellway Station. Move to the far left towards the Ruined Chapel, drop down, and head slightly right. You will spot mushrooms from the Fungal Wastes.

Play your Needolin, and Mr. Mushroom will rise spectacularly from below. While he doesn’t converse directly, exhaust his dialogue and watch him burrow away.

Bone Bottom

Next, you’ll find Mr. Mushroom in a familiar spot above Bone Bottom town where Shakra once sold maps. Chat with him in the customary style, and he will move on once again.

Far Fields

Your next adventure will involve a search for a “Scorched Field.”Head to the Far Fields Bellway Station and proceed down and east to the area where you previously completed the spine quest.

Mr. Mushroom can be found on a platform just right of where you scaled that challenging volcano. For precise navigation, refer to the accompanying images.

Greymoor

The phrase “towers spinning”pertains to the windmills scattered throughout Greymoor. This location is somewhat tricky; head over to the Greymoor Bellway Station and go up through the tower above.

Upon reaching the top, move west to find a small passageway leading into the caves above. Here, talk to Mr. Mushroom for further wisdom, and consider using your Soar ability to access the tiny area above, known as the Wisp Thicket, which may host a challenging boss fight.

The Slab

The poem alludes to cages, leading you back to The Slab. This refers to the First Sinner, a boss you may have already encountered.

Start from the Slab Bellway Station and enter the lower area unlocked with the 3rd Slab Key. If you haven’t obtained this key, you can find it in the Putrified Ducts, near the dwelling of the Broodfeast Quest Giver. The fight with the First Sinner is challenging but entertaining. Once defeated, you’ll earn the Rune Rage silk skill.

Speak with Mr. Mushroom, who can be found to the left of the cage, and he will disappear.

Mount Fay

Mount Fay… again? At this point, it may seem like you’ve scaled this mountain countless times. The “fell heart of frost”refer to the large bird perched atop. With the Faydown cloak, this climb will be significantly easier than before.

If you’re looking for a shortcut, you can climb the wall on the far right that borders the Slab, bypassing some tricky platforming. Reach the summit to find Mr. Mushroom chatting with the bug-bird.

The Cradle

Returning to Grand Mother Silk

This final location is quite demanding, and I won’t sugarcoat it: it’s genuinely tough. You’ll soon understand once you arrive. If you possess it, the Ascendant’s Grip Tool will be invaluable here.

Firstly, journey to Songclave and traverse the long corridor to the west. You’ll come across a pile of rubble fallen from the ceiling—refer to the above image for clarity. Ascend to this spot and begin your climb to the Cradle. Note that this part of the journey isn’t the hard part; it’s recognizable from your initial descent into Act 3.

Enter the Cradle where you confronted Lace and continue upward using your Soar ability until you reach the boss arena of Grand Mother Silk. Here, you can acquire the Pale Nails Silk Skill.

Next, to the right of where you found the skill, ascend once more to discover a small entrance. Venture inside.

Continue your upward journey, engaging in light platforming while avoiding the wall spiders. You’ll soon discover a bench—cherish this moment, as the real challenge is about to commence.

The Ultimate Ascent

For the route I recommend, check out my gameplay video above. It’s not flawless, but it’s effective.

The majority of the following climb will be air-based, requiring you to grab walls, Clawline little nut objects, bounce off flying foes, and apply everything you’ve mastered in the game thus far. Additionally, while on the ground, burrowing worms will target you, meaning you can’t afford to linger.

Stay calm, and if you find yourself falling, remember to pogo off enemies or grip onto walls to regain stability. Utilizing the Ascendant’s Grip allows you to hold onto a wall indefinitely, providing you a moment to recharge. While it’s a tricky ascent, you’ll quickly get into the rhythm; the second attempt will often feel more manageable.

Upon reaching the peak, play your Needolin and converse with Mr. Mushroom for the final time. To unlock the achievement, you must achieve the true ending of the game, but I won’t spoil it for you here.Best of luck!
