After finishing the Flexible Spines quest, brace yourself for your most formidable boss battle yet against the colossal Fourth Chorus.

This boss presents a daunting challenge, especially if you fail to utilize your newly acquired powers effectively. However, if you master the art of gliding, you will find that defeating him is quite manageable. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you navigate this encounter.

The Fourth Chorus boss fight can only be initiated after you acquire the Drifter’s Cloak, located deep within the Far Fields. To reach the Seamstress’s area, you will need to traverse through the boss zone.

Before challenging this boss, ensure you complete the Flexible Spines quest. While a detailed description could be lengthy, the essential tip is to head right from her lair and attack the spikes released by nearby foes.

Once the quest is complete, return left, and after navigating across the molten platforms, you will arrive at an expansive area where Fourth Chorus will emerge from the lava, signaling the start of the battle.

Strategies for Defeating Fourth Chorus

Phase One: Understanding the Basics

Consider the first phase as an intense tutorial. To survive, glide frequently to avoid the boss’s attacks.

The Fourth Chorus utilizes two primary moves that vary in threat level. The first is a slam attack that not only deals damage but also breaks parts of the platform, exposing molten lava beneath.

To mitigate damage from these attacks, consider purchasing the Magma Bell from the Forgemaster’s Daughter, which reduces harm from fire and magma.

While the slam attack is feasible to dodge, it restricts your movement space significantly, making gliding crucial for survivability. The second attack to watch for is the sweeping arm movement, capable of inflicting two masks of damage. Timing your jumps and hovering as the arm sweeps across the screen is essential, especially when you see the open palm gesture.

To inflict damage, you’ll need to strike the boss’s head, requiring quick jumps and attacks, or using your glide to hover in place effectively. Continue attacking until the Fourth Chorus crashes down, marking the conclusion of the first phase.

Phases Two and Three: Maintaining the Pressure

The approach to the second phase remains similar to the first, with the addition of roof smash attacks that release molten fireballs from above. These fiery projectiles are densely packed, so maintain an aggressive stance but do not hesitate to retreat when needed.

As you continue your assault, the boss will eventually topple to the platform, signaling the beginning of the third phase. This phase will mirror the previous one, so keep your offensive strategy intact until you bring him down once again.

Final Phase: The Grand Finale

The last phase introduces a unique challenge. The Fourth Chorus will narrow the platform space significantly, and your objective is to utilize the updrafts on either side of the arena to gain height.

While airborne, target the two explosive assets hanging from the ceiling. Strike them in quick succession while remaining vigilant to avoid the boss’s typical attacks. Successfully triggering the explosives will lead to a massive boulder crashing down on the boss, concluding the fight.

Rewards for Overcoming Fourth Chorus

Unfortunately, defeating the Fourth Chorus doesn’t yield tangible rewards other than the satisfaction of conquering this tough foe and acquiring the Drifter’s Cloak, which will allow you to progress further in the game. While the encounter may not be the most rewarding in terms of loot, it certainly empowers you as a gliding master.
