In the realm of cooking, some might proudly wear the chef’s hat, while others, like myself, take a humbler title: “disgraced chef”—often due to the many charred frozen pizzas emerging from the oven. This seems fitting for the notorious Disgraced Chef Lugoli, who perhaps deserves his title, especially considering the shocking ingredient he favors: Roach Guts.
Defeating this boss is crucial for those pursuing the Great Taste of Pharloom quest and is essential for clearing Sinner’s Road completely. However, considering his disgraced status, don’t anticipate a straightforward confrontation; he has little left to lose, which makes him a formidable opponent.
While Lugoli’s battle features minimal phases, the challenge lies in navigating his poisonous attacks, which can complicate the fight. Below is a comprehensive guide crafted to help you emerge victorious against this culinary calamity.
Finding Disgraced Chef Lugoli

Disgraced Chef Lugoli awaits in Sinner’s Road, an area accessible through Greymoor relatively early in your adventure. However, you won’t be able to challenge him until you acquire the Faydown Cloak ability (enabling double jumps).
Once you obtain this ability, navigate through the lower sections of Sinner’s Road to discover an area where you can execute a double jump. The location of the chef’s boss battle is right in this area. Activate the fight by ringing the gong located in the center of the room.
Strategies to Defeat Disgraced Chef Lugoli
Ringing the gong will alert two sous chef enemies already present. These adversaries may be less challenging—engage them with swift strikes while maintaining your distance. Once they are dispatched, the real battle begins.
Lugoli will drop into the arena, instantly unleashing his first attack, which involves firing four green poison blobs. The key to avoiding damage is positioning yourself just to the left or right of where he lands, allowing the blobs to miss you entirely.
To clarify the mechanics of the poison blobs: getting hit results in immediate poisoning, which necessitates the use of silk to remove the status effect before you can heal. Therefore, it’s critical to sidestep these attacks to maintain your ability to heal effectively without interruptions.
In this initial phase, Lugoli has two primary attacks: the butt slam, which deals damage worth two masks, and the previously mentioned poison blob attack. For the poison attack, focusing your positioning near the drop zone is crucial, as this minimizes the chances of being hit. When it comes to his butt slam, watch for the signal and dash away swiftly to evade the damage.
Successfully navigating these attacks will lead you to the second phase of the battle, which resembles the first but with increased speed and a new trick. Lugoli can now dive under the arena, launching four blobs followed by another set upon re-emergence. Avoid standing in the central area when he dives, but remain just to the side to escape unharmed.
During this more intense phase, consider utilizing your tools to quickly overpower Lugoli while he is at his most unpredictable. If you can manage your position and avoid frequent poison hits, victory should be within reach.
