In the realm of Hollow Knight: Silksong, while magic may be absent, the introduction of Silk Skills offers players a uniquely powerful experience. These skills allow you to harness the mystical properties of silk to execute innovative attacks and engage adversaries from afar.

Some of these silk skills are easily accessible during your journey, while others are artfully concealed, challenging players to explore and uncover their secrets. Successfully acquiring these abilities can transform your gameplay, allowing you to dominate Pharloom with ease, especially if paired with a suitable character build.

Silkspear

The Silkspear skill is the first ability you will acquire, integral to progressing through the main storyline. Found atop the Mosshome area, this skill becomes accessible after navigating through The Marrow and heading west. Once acquired, you can employ the Silkspear to liberate the Bell Beast, allowing continued exploration to the Deep Docks.

Thread Storm

The Thread Storm skill is yours to claim after activating all the balloons in the eastern section of Greymoor. Before you proceed here, you’ll need to conquer the arena challenge located in the large building above Craw Lake. Equip the Volt Filament tool to enhance your skills with electricity!

After you exit the building, you can locate the Thread Storm skill at the pinnacle of this area. Ascend by bouncing off the balloons suspended by chains to reach your goal.

Sharpdart

To acquire the Sharpdart skill, defeat the Widow to obtain the Needolin ability, then retrieve the Clawline from the Underworks. Return to the Wormways situated above Bone Bottom and utilize a simple key to unlock the door past the Craggler miniboss. Proceed west, and you’ll discover the Needolin Weaver door, leading you to the Sharpdart skill.

Cross Stitch

The Cross Stitch is a deflection-based skill obtained after triumphing over Phantom in combat. To locate Phantom, navigate to the Exhaust Organ by venturing through the mist, which can be accessed via Sinner’s Road or Bilewater.

While traversing the mist, play your needolin near the small butterflies to uncover the correct path. After exploring six rooms, you will find the Exhaust Organ and can challenge Phantom.

Rune Rage

To unlock the Rune Rage skill, you must first acquire the Key of the Apostate from the Putrified Ducts, which can be accessed from either Memorium or Bilewater after defeating Groal the Great.

Once you fetch the key from the tunnel above the Huntress, head to the slab to unlock two doors. Use the key on the southernmost entrance and navigate the tunnels until you discover the prison of the First Sinner. Defeating this formidable enemy will grant you the Rune Rage silk skill.

Pale Nails

The ultimate silk skill, Pale Nails, can only be uncovered in Act 3 after you have acquired the silk soar ability. Navigate to the long corridor located just east of the central elevator leading to the Cradle. Look for debris that has fallen from above — you will need to use your silk soar to ascend back to the Cradle.

Once you arrive in the area adorned with white flowers, glide to the eastern side of the platform to execute another silk soar. Eventually, you will reach Grand Mother Silk’s arena, where a piece of her arm awaits. Utilize your binding ability to unlock the final silk skill.
