Exploring the Mobile Suit Gundam Universe

The Gundam franchise commenced in 1979 with the original Mobile Suit Gundam anime series, created by Yoshiyuki Tomino. Despite a rocky start, Gundam has since solidified its position as one of Japan’s leading mecha franchises.
The inaugural storyline transports viewers to a future where human colonies flourish in space, a response to Earth’s overwhelming population and pollution issues. This new era, defined as Universal Century (UC), begins in the year UC 0001, with the conflict escalating by UC 0079 when the Zeon colony declares war against Earth.
The franchise boasts numerous series, often exploring parallel timelines. While new installments within the UC timeline continue to emerge, other notable timelines include Future Century, After Colony, Correct Century, Cosmic Era, and more. While most narratives unfold within the UC framework, well-known series such as Gundam Wing (After Colony), Gundam SEED (Cosmic Era), and Iron-Blooded Orphans (Post Disaster) venture into these diverse alternate realities.
As for the Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, its television release date is still under wraps, but anticipation builds for its international debut.
