“He’s Working Hard” — BTS’ Jin Shares Insight on Jimin’s Life in the Military to ARMY

On October 10, 2024, BTS member Jin hosted a live session on Weverse where he provided fans, known as ARMY, with updates about Jimin’s current military service. Jin was released from his compulsory military duty on June 12, 2024, while Jimin officially enlisted on December 12, 2023, and is expected to complete his service by June 2025.

During the broadcast, Jin reflected on his experiences in the military and mentioned that Jimin used to call him weekly, often having long conversations. However, he noted that since Jimin’s enlistment, the calls have stopped due to restrictions on phone usage in the military.

Jin also shared that he had visited Jimin at his military base and noticed that Jimin had put on a bit of weight, indicating he is eating well.

“It’s getting close to Jimin’s bedtime, though it may not actually be that late yet. Generally, he should be getting ready for roll call by around 9:20. I saw him recently, and he looks like he’s gained some weight because he’s been eating well. It seems like he’s taking care of himself,”

Jin went on:

“So to update you all, Jimin has indeed gained weight and is working diligently during his service. Up until a few months ago, we spoke every week, but now he hasn’t been able to call me much.”

Jin expressed how much he misses both Jimin and Jungkook, especially since they are serving together in the military.

Release of Super Tuna (Extended Version) by BTS’ Jin

On October 11, 2024, BTS’s Jin, also known as Kim Seok-jin, launched the Super Tuna (Extended Version) on various streaming services. Originally a lighthearted track released for one of his friends on December 4, 2021, the song unexpectedly became a viral sensation within the fandom, accumulating over 136 million streams on Spotify by October 10, 2024.

Interestingly, Jin chose to remove the original version from Spotify, replacing it with the new extended version of Super Tuna. He also unveiled an official music video for the track on BTS’s official YouTube channel, BANGTANTV. Fans were surprised by Jin’s decision to take down the original, especially considering its massive popularity.

It’s important to note that upon deletion of the original Super Tuna, streaming figures for the new version will reset to zero following its release on October 11, 2024.

Both versions of the song humorously celebrate Jin’s passion for fishing, with lyrics expressing his quest to catch a tuna. The accompanying music video features numerous popular memes, including the “screaming cat in a cowboy hat.”

In related news, BTS member j-hope is slated to complete his military service on October 17, 2024.
