“He’s hardly a knockout artist” – Fans react as EA Sports reveals ratings of newly added UFC 5 fighters
On April 4, the EA UFC 5 video game franchise released yet another update, but unfortunately, fans are not as excited about the outcome.
The recent update to the virtual roster featured the inclusion of four new fighters. Leading the list was up-and-coming middleweight contender Brendan Allen, who is scheduled to headline UFC Vegas 90 only two days after the patch was released to the public.
In addition to upcoming UFC 300 participants Diego Lopes and Marina Rodriguez, undefeated flyweight Muhammad Mokaev was also included.
Despite the lack of complaints about the addition of the new fighters, many fans expressed their concerns regarding the ratings given to these fighters. One fan, in particular, took issue with Allen’s rating of 94 out of 100 for the “punching power”category.
The fan remarked:
“Surprised by Allen’s punching power. He’s hardly a knockout artist”
As stated in the comment, Allen has only achieved five knockout wins in his 28 career fights, while he has secured 14 victories by submission. According to UFC Stats, in his 14 appearances in the octagon, Allen has registered only four knockdowns.
Additional supporters remarked:
“Add Chris Barnett”
“They just make anyone 4.5 stars now”
“Why have ratings if everyone is going to be at least 4 stars”
“Add in Bruce Buffer announcing the fighters record, height and weight”
