“He’s going to KO Oliveira” – Fans react as Arman Tsarukyan shares snap of uber shredded physique ahead of UFC 300 clash
Despite witnessing Arman Tsarukyan struggle during his training camp, fans had varying predictions for the outcome of his fight against Charles Oliveira.
On April 13, the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, will host one of the year’s most highly-anticipated events, UFC 300, organized by the UFC. The main card, available through pay-per-view, will showcase several intense matchups, including a potential lightweight contender bout between Oliveira and Tsarukyan.
Today, Tsarukyan posted a photo of himself with fellow UFC lightweight Grant Dawson, taken after they trained together at American Top Team. Despite his fight being less than two weeks away, the 27-year-old Armenian appeared incredibly toned, prompting a popular X account to share the image with the following caption:
“Arman Tsarukyan is in phenomenal shape less than 2 weeks out of #UFC300”
The comment section was flooded with fans expressing their various predictions for the Oliveira vs Tsarukyan fight.
“He’s going to KO Oliveira”
“Charles sleeps him early”
“Arman makes it look easy”
“Good thing it’s an mma fight and not a body building competition”
In October 2022, Oliveira experienced a setback when he was defeated by Islam Makhachev in the second round for the vacant lightweight title. However, in June 2023, he made a comeback and achieved a first-round knockout victory over Beneil Dariush.
In the meantime, Tsarukyan has been on a three-fight winning streak since his defeat against Mateusz Gamrot in June 2022. The contender, who was born in Armenia, recently secured a first-round knockout victory against Dariush in December 2023, just like Oliveira did.
Is the Lightweight Title on the Line in the Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan Matchup?
Despite being ranked in the top five, Charles Oliveira and Arman Tsarukyan may have to wait for their chance at a lightweight title shot as two other contenders could potentially be given the opportunity before them.
Initially, at the highly anticipated UFC 300 event, Max Holloway and Justin Gaethje will be battling it out for the BMF title. As a result, a remarkable display from either competitor, particularly Gaethje, could potentially propel them ahead of the winner of Oliveira vs Tsarukyan in the rankings.
Without mentioning Dustin Poirier, the next discussion about a lightweight title shot would be incomplete. On March 9, ‘The Diamond’ delivered a significant statement by knocking out Benoit Saint-Denis, who was highly regarded, in the second round of the UFC 299 co-main event.
If Islam Makhachev decides to make a comeback at a certain point, Poirier could potentially be the next contender to challenge for the lightweight championship.
