“He’s getting even better” – Jonathan Di Bella says Marat Grigorian evolved after stunning knockout of Sitthichai

Jonathan Di Bella, the reigning ONE strawweight kickboxing world champion, is a devoted supporter of Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong. It goes without saying that he was cheering for ‘Killer Kid’ during his fight against Marat Grigorian at ONE 165 in January.

Sadly, the Thai athlete experienced a harsh loss in the third round as the Armenian delivered a punishing body shot that resulted in a knockout.

Despite his lengthy career in the game, Grigorian’s lethal form left many impressed. In the words of Jonatha Di Bella, his smooth finish serves as a testament to the 32-year-old’s growth and development as a martial artist.

In a recent interview with the South China Morning Post, the Canadian-Italian slugger stated:

“Sitthichai is one of my favorite fighters and he beat him. He showed that he’s evolving and getting better. He was already good in his prime, and now he’s getting even better. He looks really good.”

Marat Grigorian has been competing professionally since 2007 and has faced off against some of the biggest names in kickboxing. He continues to do so in the world’s largest martial arts organization.

The ex-GLORY lightweight world champion still utilizes his signature aggressive style, relentlessly pushing forward and delivering knockout blows with his impressive boxing combinations.

It is apparent that time has only increased the power of Grigorian’s destructive fists, as demonstrated by his impressive knockout of the resilient Sitthichai.

Marat Grigorian prepares to defend against Superbon’s attacks

On the upcoming Friday, Marat Grigorian will once again face off against Superbon Singha Mawynn, aiming to secure another impressive victory. The two elite strikers will go head to head once more at ONE Friday Fights 58, with the winner walking away from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok as the interim ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion.

In a conversation with ONE, Grigorian expresses his certainty in his understanding of Superbon, even though he came up short in their previous encounter in 2022.

“The first fight was really short because it took only 29 seconds. The second fight was five rounds of fighting. I saw everything that he throws.”

ONE Friday Fights 58 will showcase Jonathan Di Bella’s defense of his strawweight kickboxing world title against Prajanchai. The entire event will be available to stream for free on ONE Championship’s online platforms on April 5.
