In total, there are six harnesses hidden within the game. While they are not particularly difficult to locate, they can be overlooked easily, especially with the distracting adorableness of the Calicorns.
What Purpose Do Harnesses Serve?
From a gameplay perspective, harnesses don’t affect your Calicorns’ abilities; rather, they are purely decorative. When equipped, a harness changes the appearance around the horns and head of a Calicorn, giving them a distinctive look based on their individual horn shapes. It’s worth noting that once a harness is placed on a Calicorn, it cannot be removed.
Where to Find Harnesses
As mentioned earlier, there are six harnesses to discover, but they only become available starting in Chapter Three. Focus on reaching the forest area to begin your search.
In Chapter Three, you will find one harness, while the remaining five are distributed across Chapters Five and Six. All harnesses are associated with a specific statue, so locating them becomes easier if you keep an eye out for that landmark.
Harness Location in Chapter 3
Your first harness in Chapter Three can be found to the right of the campfire area, positioned on a platform accessible via a ramp on its left. Collect it and feel free to start playing catch with the ball located on the opposite side of the statue.
First Harness in Chapter 5
This harness is located near a large Calicorn engaged with a painting.To access it, enter from the base of the structure, with assistance from a Calicorn. Follow the path you uncover to find the aforementioned Calicorn, the harness, and a yellow flower summoning idol.
Second Harness in Chapter 5
If you pass some birds and have a wounded Calicorn, you’ll encounter a statue surrounded by these creatures. Once you repair the statue and clear away the birds, look for an archway that extends off the cliff.
Beneath this arch lies another harness. Pick it up and adorn another member of your adorable herd.
First Harness in Chapter 6
After losing track of your herd, you’ll need to gather them again. Right before reaching a large structure, look for a mid-sized statue. This statue will mark the spot for a harness. Collect it, and then head off to find your next discovery.
Second Harness in Chapter 6
This harness is situated adjacent to the painting activated by moving a large walkway into a vacant area. Ascend the closest side to the yellow flower summoning statue, and make your way to the painting. Behind you will be the statue featuring the harness—retrieve it and jump down to beautify another Calicorn.
Third Harness in Chapter 6
The final harness is located near the last fire on the room’s right side, adjacent to the fire area. After collecting it, you will be prepared to proceed toward concluding the game.
While Herdling may not present intricate challenges or extended gameplay, it offers a soothing experience. It incorporates numerous elements characteristic of cozy games, albeit with the occasional difficulty in managing your flock.
