In Hell’s Kitchen season 23, episode 2, each team was allotted a 40-minute timeframe to collaboratively decide on three dishes for Gordon Ramsay. Egypt expressed his frustration when his dish wasn’t selected, as Brandon, Joe, and Michael’s dishes took the spotlight. However, this turned out to be a strategic choice since the Blue team earned a punishment pass thanks to Brandon’s dish.

On the Red team, Meghan, Magali, and Whit’s dishes received praise, particularly Whit’s innovative pineapple and salmon plate. Brandon and Whit emerged as winners, gaining the power to identify the weakest offerings from their teammates.

While Whit pointed out Ann Marie and Brittany as the least successful, Brandon chose Shant and Egypt. However, Gordon Ramsay disagreed, praising all four contestants for their efforts and the deliciousness of their dishes, resulting in the decision to skip elimination for the Blue team.

The Red team saw Magali and Amber nominated for elimination, while the Blue team opted for Michael and Shant. Eventually, Gordon decided to eliminate Amber, citing her “inability to cook.”

“Amber’s inability to cook or even count scallops was all I needed to know that I couldn’t count on her to be my next head chef,” Gordon remarked.
