Upcoming Major Update for Helldivers 2: Into the Unjust
Next month, Sony and Arrowhead Game Studios will launch a highly anticipated update for their acclaimed cooperative action game, Helldivers 2. This update, titled Into the Unjust, marks an exciting new chapter as players venture into underground territories for the first time. Players can look forward to confronting new enemy types, engaging in fresh missions, acquiring innovative weaponry, and unlocking a variety of cosmetic items.
Exploration of the Gloom: A New Frontier
In this update, the focus will shift to the enigmatic Hive Worlds of the Terminids, specifically the treacherous landscapes of The Gloom. Players will be tasked with exploring these intricately designed, fully terraformed worlds, which are shrouded in impenetrable fog and dominated by towering organic structures.
Combat in Underground Caves
The gameplay will introduce Helldiver squads to intricate cave systems beneath these planets, filled with a biological substance known as Hive Lung. This substance is responsible for the Gloom’s dense fog. Players will need to navigate these complex cave networks, engaging in battles while contending with the challenging environment.
One significant twist to the gameplay is that support will be unavailable from orbiting destroyers, complicating the collection of ammunition and resources. Squads must find their way back to the surface to regroup and replenish their supplies.
New Enemies Await
This update will also introduce a host of new adversaries, ranging from burrowing beasts to dragon-like aerial Terminids. The studio provides insights into these formidable foes:
“What little intelligence we have on the Gloom contains information about a new subterranean species of Terminid Warriors, Bile Spewers, and Chargers that, when they detect a threat, will burrow underground and begin moving toward prey. Once close enough, they erupt from the ground and attack.” says the studio. “It doesn’t stop there. The Gloom has mutated the Terminids even further, into grotesque monsters like the Dragonroach: a menace in the sky that dives unsuspecting Helldivers and rains down burning bile.”

New Tools for the Battle
Alongside the new content, players can expect the launch of the Dust Devils Premium Warbond, which will introduce a new primary weapon, a unique throwable gadget, and three additional strategems to effectively battle the menacing Hive Worlds.
Release Date and Exciting Crossovers
The Helldivers 2: Into the Unjust update will be available on September 4 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. Additionally, to celebrate the game’s recent launch on Xbox on August 26, players will also encounter characters from Halo: ODST in an official crossover event.
