Helldivers 2 and Killzone Crossover Now Available on PS5 and PC

Helldivers 2 Launches Exciting Crossover with Killzone 2

In an exciting development, Arrowhead Game Studios recently introduced the Helldivers 2 Omens of Tyranny update. This update brings an array of new features including an additional faction for players, a four-person vehicle for cooperative gameplay, and new worlds to explore and liberate. Alongside this launch, the studio is thrilled to unveil its inaugural crossover with another franchise from Sony—one that fans may recognize from the past.

The studio expressed their enthusiasm in a recent blog post, stating, “To celebrate your heroics in liberating the Voteless from their tortured existence, we’re bringing to the table our first official crossover – and it’s a super cool one.” They emphasized their commitment to ensure that any crossover aligns perfectly with the game’s core experience, culminating in the highly anticipated collaboration with Killzone 2.

Details of the Helldivers 2 x Killzone 2 Collaboration

The crossover event, titled “Helldivers 2 x Killzone 2 Collab,” is now live across both PlayStation 5 and PC platforms. Players have the opportunity to acquire a collection featuring a unique armor set, a new primary weapon, and various other cosmetics available in the Superstore. Moreover, Arrowhead plans to reward players with complimentary Killzone-themed items based on the progression of the in-game ‘Galactic War.’

Upcoming Releases and Community Feedback

This current package represents just the initial phase of the collaboration’s content; Arrowhead has announced that additional items and cosmetics will be released on December 23 via the Superstore. This strategy aims to keep players engaged and eager for more content.

Despite the buzz surrounding the new features, there appears to be mixed feedback within the Helldivers 2 community. Concerns chiefly revolve around the pricing structure, particularly the $20 cost for the complete set. Some players argue that this is steep, especially when considering a standard “Warbond”package, which typically retails for around $10 and includes a selection of weapons, armor, and cosmetics.

To address player sentiments, Arrowhead is experimenting with extended rotation periods for items available in the microtransactions Superstore. This means that crossover items will be featured for five days before refreshing, allowing players more time to make selections. The studio is actively seeking feedback on this trial, demonstrating their commitment to community engagement and improvement.
