Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II Enhancement for PlayStation 5 Pro
The upcoming Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II has recently undergone significant upgrades to its engine, incorporating features from later versions. This renovation facilitates the introduction of exclusive capabilities for the PlayStation 5 Pro, including support for PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR).
Insider Insights from Ninja Theory
In a newly released YouTube video, Gavin Costello, the Technical Director at Ninja Theory, elaborates on the technical transition of the game to the PlayStation 5 and its Pro variant. According to him, the primary focus was on adapting the underlying technology rather than modifying the game itself. Leveraging Epic Games’ robust platform integration, the development team efficiently ensured that the game operated seamlessly on Sony’s consoles, allowing for a complete gameplay experience from start to finish.
Implementing New Features
With a solid foundation set, the team proceeded to implement every feature of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II into its revamped versions. They also updated the earlier iteration of the Unreal Engine 5, integrating enhancements that would enable exclusive PlayStation 5 Pro functionalities such as variable rate shading and PSSR. Coincidentally, the release of the PlayStation 5 version aligns with a forthcoming update for the Xbox Series edition, which will successfully introduce a 60 FPS performance mode on the Xbox Series X. It is anticipated that these enhancements will aid in delivering a smooth 60 FPS gameplay experience for this console version.
