“He should be compared only to himself” – WWE legend comments on Roman Reigns’ history-making run in the company

WWE icon John Cena recently showered praise upon Roman Reigns, his longtime rival in the ring.

The Tribal Chief has cemented his position as one of the most successful stars in the Stamford-based company ever since his return as a dominant villain at SummerSlam 2020. At WrestleMania 40, he will team up with The Rock to face off against Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes.

It’s important to point out that at last year’s WrestleMania, Reigns emerged victorious over The American Nightmare. During Night Two of The Show of Shows, Rhodes will have another opportunity to challenge for The Tribal Chief’s Undisputed WWE Universal Title.

In a recent episode of A&E Biography: WWE Legends, which highlighted Reigns’ career, Cena stated that the former had learned from past failures and overcome various obstacles to become a top star in the company. The Cenation Leader stressed that Reigns should not be compared to anyone else, but should be recognized for his own unique journey.

“It is on-the-job training. No matter what, we learn the most from failure. Roman had his share of knocks and finally just said, ‘F*** it, I’m doing it my own way,’ and it has been a wrap ever since. It has been, dropped mic [sic]. conversation over. There’s nobody like him. He should be compared only to himself.” (H/T: Cultholic)

The leader of the Bloodline has been on an unstoppable streak since his return in 2020. He has held the championship title for more than 1300 days, defeating renowned wrestlers such as Cena, Edge, Goldberg, and others.

Roman Reigns Calls Out John Cena in Fiery Promo

The ongoing Bloodline saga in WWE has seen Roman Reigns and John Cena cross paths multiple times, including their highly anticipated one-on-one match at SummerSlam 2021. As a key character in the storyline, the Cenation Leader has played a crucial role in the unfolding events.

The Tribal Chief recently expressed in an interview on The Pat McAfee Show that while Cena is considered one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, he has not held the world title for as long as the former.

“I don’t take anything away from anybody. What John [Cena] has done, yeah, as far as generations come, that is GOAT-level stuff. But for me, it has always been about quality, not quantity. John has a lot of title reigns, but he doesn’t have a title reign that can compare to what I’ve done in the past four years. So this quality that I have put on display, it speaks for itself,”Reigns said.

It will be interesting to discover the upcoming plans the company has in store for Roman Reigns. Will he be triumphant once more at The Show of Shows? Only time will reveal.
