“He pulled a Barry Sanders”, “Gleison Tibau arguably beat him” – Fans give Ali Abdelaziz grief for “Khabib Nurmagomedov IS THE GOAT” claim
Ali Abdelaziz, the manager of former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, stirred up a contentious discussion on the internet by declaring the Dagestani fighter as the greatest of all time in MMA.
In addition to highlighting ‘The Eagle’s undefeated record, his social media post also targeted Baseball legend Barry Bonds, implying that his use of steroids weakened his claims to greatness and led to his exclusion from the Hall of Fame.
In support of the GOAT title, Abdelaziz provided the following as evidence:
“Barry Bonds never got inducted into the Hall of Fame because he cheated, @TeamKhabib IS THE GOAT 1) Never been Knocked down 2) Never have a black eye after the fight 3) Never have a cut or stitches during the fight 4) Lost 1 round in his whole career”

He continued to dispute UFC CEO Dana White’s view on Jon Jones as the greatest MMA fighter of all time.
“Dana most of the time is right about a lot of things, but h is wrong on this one.”
The manager’s claims were met with a flood of comments from fans, who scrutinized them critically. Some fans even drew comparisons between Khabib’s retirement at the peak of his career and NFL legend Barry Sanders’ early retirement, suggesting that the Dagestani may have avoided facing tougher competition later on.
“He fought only 5 guys worth mentioning tho… he was good… but he pulled a Barry Sanders.”
One person also brought up the contentious battle against Gleison Tibau at UFC 248, in which numerous people believed the Brazilian should have won.
“Gleison Tibau arguably beat him”
The topic of conversation then turned to Jon Jones’ impressive record. Fans pointed out that Jones has had more title defenses than Khabib has total UFC wins. The level of competition faced by each fighter was also brought into discussion, with some suggesting that Jones has consistently faced tougher opponents throughout his career in two different weight classes.
“Jon Jones has more title wins than Khabib has in the UFC, case closed.”
A.J McKee’s Impressive Stats Comparable to MMA Greats Jon Jones and Khabib Nurmagomedov
Despite Khabib Nurmagomedov and Jon Jones being long considered frontrunners in the heated discussion surrounding the MMA GOAT, former Bellator featherweight champ A.J. McKee has boldly inserted himself into the conversation. With an impressive record, McKee believes he is on par with the top contenders for this title.
McKee, who currently holds a professional record of 22-1, recently appeared on The MMA Hour where he discussed his standing among the top athletes in the sport. While he recognized the impressive performances of Nurmagomedov and Jones, he also highlighted his own statistical accomplishments, downplaying their perceived superiority.
“I’m the only second-generation fighter out here making real noise, and state-wis, who’s doing better than me, besides Jon Jones? Khabib? You can name legit two people in the world. We’re talking th entire world that have better stats than me.”
