“He Needs to Sue” — Internet Responds to Fashion Nova’s Drake BBL Costume Range for Halloween
Online users have reacted to the well-known retail brand Fashion Nova seemingly ridiculing Drake by introducing a BBL Drizzy Halloween costume on their website.
The costume, entitled ‘BBL Booty Butt Pad Costume Accessory,’ showcases a model in a black hoodie that has “Papi”emblazoned on the front. For those familiar with Drizzy, “Papi”is one of his longstanding nicknames.
Additionally, the model’s hairstyle resembles Drake’s current look, and she sports multi-colored hair clips—similar to those worn by Drake in the music video for “8AM In Charlotte.”The model’s exaggerated backside serves as a nod to ongoing speculation that Drake has undergone BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) surgery.
Fans quickly took to X to share their thoughts on this perceived mockery. While some condemned the retail juggernaut and suggested that the rapper should take legal action, others found humor in the situation. Here are some popular comments on X:
“He got to sue them,”wrote one user on X.
“Y’all can’t hate Drake this much now,”noted another user.
“Hope he sues and they have to shut down,”tweeted someone.
“Nah I gotta see the video from this photoshoot because I know they were cackling in there,”joked another fan.
Many fans even mistook the model for American rapper Dave East.
“Man, I thought that was Dave East,”wrote a user on X.
“Bro is that Dave East?”asked another.
Another netizen expressed a desire to see footage from the photoshoot.
“Nah I gotta see the video from this photoshoot because I know they were cackling in there,”penned a fan on X.
“That sounds hilarious! Fashion Nova always knows how to make a statement with their costumes,”tweeted another user.
The rumors surrounding Drake’s alleged Brazilian butt lift have been widely circulated in various tabloids and referenced in numerous diss tracks by other artists. The trolling began with Rick Ross, who mentioned cosmetic procedures in “Champagne Moments”:
“Yeah, you had that surgery, that six-pack gone. That’s why you wearin’ that funny sh*t at your show, you can’t hide it,”rapped Ross.
Similarly, Kendrick Lamar criticized Drake’s purported cosmetic enhancements in “Euphoria,”stating:
“Let your core audience stomach that, then tell ’em where you get your abs from.”
Drake Responds to Metro Boomin’s BBL Drizzy Challenge with a New Track
Metro Boomin transformed Drake’s BBL rumors into a viral meme by creating a beat titled “BBL Drizzy.”Following the temporary ceasefire in the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar feud, Boomin challenged rappers across the industry to provide lyrics for his beat, along with a chance to win a cash prize of $10,000 for the best diss lyrics. The challenge quickly gained traction, amassing over 3.3 million streams within a week.
Drake responded to Metro Boomin’s “BBL Drizzy”challenge by sampling the instrumental in a collaboration with Sexyy Red. The song, titled “U My Everything,”was released as part of Sexyy Red’s EP, “In Sexyy We Trust,”which debuted on May 24, 2024.
In this track, Drake raps over Metro Boomin’s beat in the second verse, stating:
“Me and the surgeon got history/ I changed a lot of girls’ lives for real, they need a new body, they hittin’ me, ayy/ BBL Drizzy, they want a new body, they ask me for it,”
The track has quickly become a favorite from Sexyy Red’s new EP, surging past 11 million views on YouTube within just four months.
