“He likes to put on a show” – Francisco Lo offers his thoughts on upcoming opponent Kade Ruotolo

Francisco Lo, a newcomer from Brazil, anticipates that he and Kade Ruotolo will deliver an entertaining performance when they enter the ring this Friday evening on Amazon Prime Video.

Taking place at the renowned Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, ONE Fight Night 21 will showcase the comeback of current ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion Kade Ruotolo. Despite moving up to a 180-pound catchweight bout, the reigning title holder will not be bringing along his 26-pound gold belt, as he faces off against one of the most creative submission experts in BJJ.

In an interview with ONE Championship prior to his highly anticipated promotional debut, Francisco Lo stated:

“He likes to put on a show. I also like to put on a show. So I think it will be a great fight. I’m really looking forward to making this debut.”

Francisco Lo’s Journey to His ONE Championship Debut

Having been training in “the gentle art”since he was 10 years old, 23-year-old Francisco Lo achieved his black belt in 2022 while training with the renowned Checkmat team in Long Beach, California. In the following year, he claimed victory as the 2023 IBJJF Pan American no-gi champion and also took first place at the IBJJF American Nationals.

Lo is recognized for achieving a remarkable 49 triumphs in their career, with 28 of those being secured through submission, resulting in a finish rate of 57%.

Kade Ruotolo, who is the opponent, has a perfect record in ONE Championship with a 5-0 record since joining the promotion in May 2022. Along the way, he has defeated notable opponents such as former ONE world champion Shinya Aoki, four-time Sambo world champion Uali Kurzhev, and IBJJF world champion Matheus Gabriel.

Additionally, Ruotolo has two consecutive wins over Norwegian submission specialist Tommy Langer.

Will the Atos Jiu-Jitsu champion continue his winning streak and improve his ONE record to 6-0, or will Lo surprise the world and solidify his position as the next rising star in BJJ?

North American viewers have the opportunity to watch ONE Fight Night 21 live and at no cost on Amazon Prime Video during U.S. primetime on Friday, April 5.
