A Cooperative Experience Like No Other
Continuing in the tradition of acclaimed titles such as It Takes Two and A Way Out, Split Fiction invites two players to team up as they embark on a shared adventure. In this co-op game, two protagonists, Mio and Zoe—each a writer with distinct creative styles, Fantasy and Sci-Fi—navigate a uniquely designed world together from a single screen. Their dynamic backgrounds promise a colorful narrative accompanied by intriguing gameplay mechanics.
The Adventure Awaits
In an innovative twist, Mio and Zoe find themselves ensnared within a machine that siphons their original ideas. As they explore both the vibrant landscapes of fantasy and the futuristic terrains of science fiction, players will encounter exciting challenges that reflect their contrasting creative visions.
In Split Fiction, players will discover a variety of sci-fi and fantasy mechanics and abilities. Escape a sun that’s going supernova, challenge a monkey to a dance battle, try out some cool hoverboard tricks, fight an evil kitty, and ride everything from gravity bikes to a sandshark. With worlds that are entirely different from each other, surprising challenges await players at every turn.
A Continued Partnership with EA
As with previous projects from Hazelight, Split Fiction will be published by EA. Jeff Gamon, General Manager at EA Partners, commented on the collaboration, stating, “No one does it better than Hazelight.” He expressed enthusiasm about their long-standing partnership with Josef Fares and his talented team, highlighting their commitment to delivering another groundbreaking cooperative experience.
Accessibility and Release Information
Like Hazelight’s earlier games, Split Fiction implements a user-friendly approach where only one player needs to purchase the game. The introduction of a Friend Pass allows a second player to download the game for free, enabling seamless gaming across all platforms. Furthermore, players can look forward to cross-play functionality available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, enhancing cooperative gameplay.
