Halo Studios Gears Up for Major Announcement This October
Halo Studios, the rebranded name of the former 343 Industries, is on the brink of unveiling its latest projects since the launch of Halo Infinite. While the studio has been mainly focused on supporting existing titles such as the Master Chief Collection and Halo Infinite, it has remained relatively silent regarding its future releases since 2021.
In its recent monthly update posted on Halo Waypoint, the developer hinted at significant news to come in October. Following a similar pattern to the announcements made during the 2024 Halo World Championship, this year promises another exclusive reveal for the Halo fan community.
“Over the past few weeks, there’s been a fair amount of speculation about when and where more details might emerge about any of the multiple projects Halo Studios is actively working on, ”says the studio.“We don’t usually comment on such matters, but this time we want to enter the chat and share a little more perspective for Halo fans who might be on the fence about whether to attend this year’s event.”
Last October, 343 Industries transitioned to Halo Studios, a significant change for a team that has been a staple of the Halo franchise since the release of Halo 4 in 2012. Although concrete details about new projects remain scarce, the studio provided a teaser video and indicated that several initiatives are currently under development, with releases expected to be a few years away.
Furthermore, the studio confirmed that it will be moving away from the Slipstream Engine utilized for Halo Infinite and instead adopt Unreal Engine 5 for its upcoming projects. This shift signals a new direction for the studio’s game development approach, aiming for enhanced graphics and performance.
“Speculation is always fun, but if you want the official scoop on what Halo Studios has been working on, you won’t want to miss this year’s Halo World Championship, ”added the studio.“We really hope you’ll join us in Seattle this October!”
The 2025 Halo World Championship is scheduled for October 24 in Seattle, coinciding with the franchise’s 25th anniversary in 2026. Fans can anticipate either an announcement of a new game or a remaster project during this exciting event.
