Halo Infinite’s New Halloween Operation Content Update Released

Recently, there has been a flurry of updates regarding the future of the Halo franchise under Microsoft’s umbrella. Nevertheless, the team at the recently renamed Halo Studios continues to roll out complimentary content updates for their latest title, Halo: Infinite, released in 2021.

This latest free content drop is a festive, holiday-themed update aptly named Haloween. As detailed in a post on the Halo Waypoint website, players can look forward to a variety of exciting features. The highlight of this update is a new mode called Survive the Undead, which is centered around Firefight and takes inspiration from the Zombies modes found in Call of Duty. This mode was developed by the Forge Falcons, a group of passionate Forge creators who also produced three brand-new maps specifically for the Haloween event.

One of the new maps, Night of The Undead, is a reimagining of the classic Call of Duty Zombies map, Nacht Der Untoten, tailored for Halo Infinite Forge. Another map, Countdown of the Dead, pays homage to the Countdown map from Halo: Reach. The third map introduced is an original creation called Installation of the Undead.

In addition to the Survive the Undead mode and its accompanying playlist, the Haloween Operation also provides players access to the newly introduced Spartanstein armor set, which can be earned through the Operation Pass. Additionally, an Infection update featuring new Alpha Zombies will be released after this, and the Haloween Operation is set to run until November 5.

Looking ahead to November, Halo Studios, in collaboration with Skybox Labs, is planning to introduce a third-person viewpoint feature in Halo: Infinite. Initially, this will be implemented in a variant of the Firefight mode, with plans to extend it to standard PvP multiplayer and support for the Forge editor in the future. Unlike individual toggles, this feature will be activated at the level of the mode itself.
