The much-anticipated Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX has found its home on Amazon Prime Video, making it accessible to a global audience. Fans eager to glimpse this new addition can already catch a prologue film premiering in North America, combining the first four episodes of GQuuuuuuX. This prologue is substantial, especially if the entire series is limited to approximately 12 episodes.

This installment of the Gundam universe is set in a reimagined timeline of Gundam 0079, in a world where the Zeon forces secured victory and began mass-producing Mobile Suits. The narrative follows Amate Yuzuriha, who resides in a space colony and becomes embroiled in the clandestine Clan Battles after encountering a refugee named Nyaan. These battles, fought using Mobile Suits, often attract unwanted attention from law enforcement.
Hideaki Anno’s Role in GQuuuuuuX

Hideaki Anno, the visionary behind Evangelion, is contributing as a screenwriter for Gundam GQuuuuuuX, collaborating with Yoji Enokido, a veteran from the Evangelion media universe. The series is helmed by Kazuya Tsurumaki, who co-directed the acclaimed Rebuild of Evangelion films.
This project emerges as a joint effort by Sunrise and Studio Khara, with Tsurumaki initially pitching the concept to Sunrise without expectations for approval. The prologue film has achieved impressive commercial success in Japan, ranking among the highest-grossing Gundam movies, while also garnering a positive response within niche U. S.audiences. It holds the potential to resonate with new viewers similarly to how Witch of Mercury introduced fresh fans to the franchise.
Additionally, Amazon Prime Video offers the complete Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy, further enhancing its anime catalog.
