Final Update for Guild Wars 2: Janthir Wilds Set for Release
ArenaNet has officially revealed that the concluding update for the Guild Wars 2: Janthir Wilds expansion, titled Absolution, is scheduled for release on June 3. This update marks the third and final installment in a series of free updates, succeeding Godspawn and Repentance.
What to Expect in the ‘Absolution’ Update
Players can look forward to an array of new features, including enriched game modes, exciting new rewards, and an immersive map that unfolds an action-packed storyline. This update allows players to delve deep into the ancient mysteries located within the Primordial Egress, situated in the untamed frontiers of Tyria.
Exploring Bava Nisos: A City of Secrets
The exploration leads players to the ruins of Bava Nisos, a city that once celebrated Mursaat glory but has now been distorted by centuries of arcane influence. The journey culminates in a map-wide meta event directing players to the Mists Gate, the central battleground of the titan invasion featured in Janthir. Additionally, players will encounter a formidable new boss known as Ura, the titan, in the Convergence game mode, which accommodates group sizes of up to 50 players.
New Fractal Dungeon: Kinfall
Among the noteworthy additions, a brand new Fractal dungeon, Kinfall, invites players to engage in the rich cultural legacy of the lowland Kodan. Participants will experience events linked to the elder dragon Jormag, a pivotal moment that precipitated the Kodan’s migration from the northern realms of Tyria to the Janthir Wilds.
Enhancements to Homesteads
Moreover, the Homesteads housing feature is poised for significant enhancements. The decoration limit will increase from 1, 000 to 2, 000 objects, allowing for more intricate and personalized living spaces. Players will also see an increase in the Homestead Mastery level to 500, unlocking new crafted decoration options. The update will introduce a variety of rewards, including a legendary backpack and glider, new weapon sets, fresh relics, and updated offerings in the Wizards’ Vault, effectively closing out the 2024 expansion cycle.
Anticipating Future Expansions
With ArenaNet shifting towards an annual expansion model, fans can expect announcements regarding the next expansion in the weeks to come, keeping the excitement alive within the community.
