The game presents players with numerous formidable enemies, all afflicted by a mysterious affliction known as Feathering. As players navigate through the diverse environments of temples and palaces, they will encounter both adversarial foes and helpful NPCs, some of whom can be summoned for assistance in battle.

The summoning mechanic in WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers diverges from the standard formats familiar to other soulslike games. How to Summon Allies in WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers

Your journey begins in WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers when you encounter a character named Nian Suichang in the Narrow Stretch section. He will ask for your help in retrieving elixirs from nearby villages for his injured brother. Should you choose to assist him, he will reward you with a crucial item known as the Bone Whistle.

Nian explains that the Bone Whistle serves as your summoning device and advises you to keep it handy, recommending that you equip it alongside other essential items, such as your Manna Vases, for quick access during gameplay.

To actually summon an ally using the Bone Whistle, players must activate the item while engaged in a boss battle. Currently, it appears that the Bone Whistle can only be effectively used during one specific encounter in the early stages of the game:
