Guide to Unlocking the Inherited Pride Achievement in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

The latest offering from Bandai Namco and Spike Chunsoft, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, comes packed with a total of 49 trophies and achievements awaiting players. Among these, you’ll find 36 are bronze, 11 are silver, and there are two gold trophies, with PlayStation enthusiasts also able to aspire for a Platinum Trophy by collecting all achievements. Acquiring certain trophies, like the notable ‘Inherited Pride,’ can prove to be quite a challenge.

To successfully unlock the ‘Inherited Pride’ achievement in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, players must navigate through the ‘Inherited Pride’ side path within Future Trunks’ saga in the Episode Battle mode. While this task might appear daunting at first glance, this guide will showcase the most straightforward approach to achieving the Inherited Pride trophy in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero.

Despite its classification as a bronze trophy, unlocking Inherited Pride is no small feat. The challenge lies in the requirement to complete certain prior quests with the game set to its default difficulty, which is normal mode.

Fortunately, after successfully unlocking the Inherited Pride quest, you can decrease the game’s difficulty to easy and still earn this achievement in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero. This guide also offers insights on selecting the right difficulty level for your play style.

To earn the Inherited Pride achievement, players must choose the ‘Stay Here and Train’ option during the Trunks’ Choice episode, followed by defeating Vegeta, Piccolo, and Gohan within a specified time limit.

As Trunks, you’ll battle this trio, but the real challenge arises from the time constraint. This aspect contributes to the trophy’s rarity, with only 9.49% of players having completed it as of this writing. While defeating Piccolo and Gohan may not be overly difficult for seasoned players, overcoming Vegeta can prove formidable even for the best.

Strategies to Overcome the Trio for the Achievement

After taking down Piccolo and Gohan, select ‘Go with Vegeta.’ While there are various methods to tackle any battle in the game, one effective strategy against Vegeta is to start the round with three full Ki bars. Initiate the battle with a Meteor Smash using RT+Y on Xbox or R2+ Triangle on PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller.

If your initial attempt at Meteor Smash fails, it’s best to restart the battle. Once successful, activate Sparking Mode as you close in for a melee confrontation. Follow this with a Dragon Dash by pressing RT+A or R2+ X, then rapidly press X or Square to continue your assault. Without granting Vegeta a chance to regroup and retaliate, press Y or Triangle to execute an Ultimate Attack using RT+B or R2+ Circle.

Defeating Vegeta will finally grant you the coveted Inherited Pride trophy.
