Completion of the main game storyline is essential to unlock the Claws of Awaji expansion.

This expansion is classified as an endgame add-on, necessitating players to fulfill a series of late-stage quests before venturing to Awaji. Specifically, you must successfully complete the Shinbakufu Target Board along with the personal quests for Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjior. Additionally, the Out of the Shadows Quests must be cleared as well.

After completing the prerequisite quests, your next step to embark on the new journey is to converse with Konatsu, Hattori Hanzo’s associate, at the Hideout located in Settsu. This interaction will trigger the start of a new quest, ultimately leading you to the Island of Awaji.

The start of the Claws of Awaji expansion retains access to mainland locations and content.

While Awaji is indicated on the primary game map, it’s classified as an independent area with its unique map. For players looking to return to the locations from the base game, accessing the new arrow icon will facilitate quick travel. If you find yourself on Awaji, this will transport you back to the Hideout; if you are on the mainland, you will be sent to Sumoto, conveniently located near the town’s Kakurega.
