Guide to Playing Elden Ring Nightreign in Multiplayer Mode

Elden Ring Nightreign can indeed be played solo, but the experience is enhanced significantly when you team up with a trio of friends. If you’ve ever wished for a more challenging alternative to Fortnite’s trio mode, filled with demanding boss battles, then Nightreign might just be your next gaming obsession.

Getting Started with Multiplayer in Elden Ring Nightreign

Commencing your multiplayer journey in Nightreign is straightforward. After completing a brief tutorial and watching the initial story cinematics—a process that takes roughly 20 minutes—you’re ready to invite friends to join your adventure.

Inviting Friends to Play Elden Ring Nightreign

To form a party, players can utilize the friend list feature available on their respective gaming platforms. One player can send invitations to others, allowing friends to join seamlessly. However, it’s important to note that Nightreign does not currently support crossplay, making this approach the most reliable method for connecting with known companions.

Additionally, you can modify your Matchmaking Settings found in the Expeditions menu within Roundtable Hold. This allows for player interactions through the Team Session option or by setting a specific Multiplayer Password. This password functionality ensures that your party matches only with players who have the same code, streamlining the grouping process.

Once your friends are in your game, their names will appear in the top right corner of the screen, indicating how many are prepared for the next Expedition. You can ready up by interacting with the expedition table once more.

Is Duo Play an Option in Elden Ring Nightreign?

Currently, engaging in Nightreign with just one friend isn’t feasible in a traditional duo format. When you and your friend ready up, the game will enter matchmaking until a third player joins your group. Thus, gameplay is limited to either one player or a full party of three.

Playing Elden Ring Nightreign Solo

If you prefer exploring Nightreign on your own, navigate to the Roundtable and select the second tab labeled ‘Matchmaking settings.’ From there, scroll down and switch the ‘Multiplayer’ option to ‘Single player.’

After this adjustment, you can select ‘Commence expedition’ to begin your solo adventure. Should you decide to team up with others later, simply revert your matchmaking settings back to ‘multiplayer.’

Now that you’re well-equipped to connect with your friends, it’s time to prepare for the formidable challenges that await in Nightreign.
