Understanding Overwatch 2 Junkenstein’s Revenge Game Mode
Key Features of Junkenstein’s Revenge
Junkenstein’s Revenge in Overwatch 2 is a cooperative mission where players unite as a team of four to protect the fortifications of Adlersbrunn Castle. Within this mode, participants can choose from four difficulty levels: normal, hard, expert, and legendary.
The main goal is to eliminate the endless waves of adversaries aiming to breach the castle’s gate. Between enemy waves, Dr. Junkenstein dispatches his minions as mini-bosses, culminating in his own appearance. The order of villain spawns is as follows:
- The Reaper
- Junkenstein’s Monster
- The Summoner
- Dr. Junkenstein
Once you defeat Dr. Junkenstein for the initial time, another wave of enemies will follow prior to the entrance of The Witch. Notably, The Witch doesn’t engage in combat but resurrects Dr. Junkenstein and his three companions simultaneously. The mission concludes when all four villains have been vanquished, including Dr. Junkenstein.

Optimal Heroes for Overwatch 2 Junkenstein’s Revenge
This co-op experience exclusively features Damage and Support Heroes. Here’s a breakdown of the available characters for selection:
Damage Heroes:
- Ashe
- Cassidy
- Genji
- Hanzo
- Soldier: 76
- Torbjorn
- Tracer
- Widowmaker
Support Heroes:
- Well
- Baptiste
- Brigitte
- Zenyatta
The ideal team composition for this mode is three Damage Heroes and one Support Hero.
Torbjorn stands out as the top choice. His Deploy Turret excels at clearing waves of enemies and rapidly charges his ultimate ability, Molten Core, making it invaluable in halting foes at spawn points.
Next, for a secondary Damage Hero, Cassidy is recommended. His fast and accurate primary weapon is excellent for controlling crowds, and his ultimate, Deadeye, can inflict significant damage on bosses.
Lastly, to secure a long-range shooter, Widowmaker is the perfect candidate. She can take shots from a distance, keeping herself safe while dealing consistent damage. Her Venom Mines can be strategically placed near enemy spawn points to maximize effectiveness against predictable enemy movements.
For your Support Hero, consider selecting Ana. Her long-range primary weapon helps maintain a safe distance from combat and her ultimate Nano Boost can dramatically enhance damage output against bosses, especially when used in conjunction with Cassidy’s Deadeye.
