In Monster Hunter Wilds, Wingdrake Hide serves as a crucial Equipment Material. This resource is essential for crafting various armor pieces and Talismans, and it’s also involved in upgrading specific Kinsects. Players who favor the Insect Glaive will find this material particularly valuable. Fortunately, acquiring Wingdrake Hide is relatively straightforward in the game, and this guide provides detailed instructions on where to find it.
It is important to note that Wingdrake Hide can only be obtained in Low Rank maps. While players in High Rank will receive Wingdrake Hide+ from the same monsters, those needing the standard version should consult Alma at the Quest Counter. They can take on Low Rank Optional Quests that occur in the Plains, Forest, or Basin regions, targeting specific monsters outlined in this guide.
Locating Wingdrake Hide in Monster Hunter Wilds
Targeting Baunos

Players can find Wingdrake Hides by carving the remains of Baunos, small flying monsters located in the Windward Plains. Primarily, Baunos are visible in Areas 8, 10, 11, and 13. Players should keep an eye on the sky while exploring these regions for easier spotting.
To enhance the hunting experience, utilize the “Filter Icons”feature. Access this by opening the map, clicking on “Filter Icons”in the bottom-left corner, and selecting the Small Monsters tab to mark a Baunos. Once a waypoint is set, players can summon their Seikret and be transported directly to the monster with the auto-move feature.
Once a Baunos is located, players should use their Slingers to target it. An input prompt will appear, allowing players to pull the creature down within range. After successfully bringing it down, players can defeat the creature using their preferred weapon and carve it to collect the coveted Wingdrake Hide.
Hunting Harpios

Alternatively, Wingdrake Hides can be gained from Harpios, another type of small flying monster inhabiting both the Scarlet Forest and the Oilwell Basin. When hunting in the Forest, aim for locations such as Areas 9, 12, and 15, while in the Basin, Area 2 is a prime spot for finding Harpios.
Using the “Filter Icons”feature again simplifies the search. Players can easily mark their location and find Harpios by opening the map and navigating to the appropriate tab.
Unlike Baunos, Harpios prefer to remain grounded, making them easier targets for hunters. After defeating these small wyverns, players can carve their bodies to secure a Wingdrake Hide.
