Unlocking the Barbarian Armor Set in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
The expansive realm of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features an impressive array of armor sets, each serving distinct purposes—whether for exploration, elemental protection, or enhancing combat effectiveness. The Barbarian armor set, in particular, stands out by offering a significant boost to Link’s attack power while giving him a fierce aesthetic appeal.
Much like other armor collections throughout Hyrule, Link can find the Barbarian armor set spread across three specific caves. Below, we will guide you through the steps to secure this powerful set.
Step-by-Step Guide to Acquiring the Barbarian Armor Set
The Barbarian armor set comprises three individual components: the Barbarian Helm, Barbarian Chest Piece, and Barbarian Leg Wraps. When fully equipped, Link not only gains an enhanced attack strength but can also unlock further benefits, such as increased stamina for charged attacks, after upgrading at a Great Fairy Fountain. Here’s a complete guide on where to find each piece!
For a swift overview of their locations, check out our interactive map for Tears of the Kingdom below:
Discovering the Barbarian Helm
The Barbarian Helm can be found within the Robred Dropoff Cave, nestled in East Necluda. The cave’s entrance is at the foot of a cliff, which may pose a challenge to locate. Look for distinctive statues that mark the path to the cave.

Upon entering the cave, navigate carefully by observing the orientation of the statues found within. If you feel disoriented, always follow the direction in which the statues are looking.
Take the first right after entering. You will encounter six sets of statues and some breakable rocks. Pay attention to which statue faces outward, as it indicates where you need to break down the rock wall using a hammer, Yunobo, or Bomb Fruit to advance.

Next, you will enter a room filled with Boboklins. You can choose to combat them or simply break through the floor to avoid confrontation, but remember to quickly exit the water to dodge their incoming attacks.

As you progress, observe another group of statues to your right. Position Link in front of these and use the Ascend
ability to reach the next section of the cave.

Upon arriving, you will discover an altar and a chest containing the highly coveted Barbarian Helm. The remaining pieces of the armor set will be significantly easier to obtain.
Acquiring the Barbarian Chest Piece
The Barbarian Chest Piece awaits you in the Crenel Hills Cave located in the Faron region. You’ll easily spot the entrance surrounded by breakable Luminous Stone blocks.

Once inside, navigate straight ahead to an open chamber. Exercise caution when approaching the sleeping Stone Talus to your right; instead, hug the left wall and continue until reaching a Luminous Stone block.

Destroy the large block of Luminous Stone using Bomb Fruit or arrows, as it may be hard to reach with melee attacks. After breaking it, climb up to find the altar with the Barbarian Chest Piece in the chest!
Finding the Barbarian Leg Wraps
The final piece, the Barbarian Leg Wraps, can be found in Walnot Mountain Cave, also situated in East Necluda. The location is marked on the following map.

Venture inside and you will encounter two pathways: one leading down to your left and another ascending to your right. Follow the right path until you spot an Ice Like. You can engage this creature or evade it to reach the altar’s platform beyond.

Upon reaching the altar, you’ll discover a chest, but there’s a catch—it’s encased in ice! To open it, use wooden sticks and flint to create a fire next to the chest, which will thaw the ice, allowing you to retrieve the Barbarian Leg Wraps.

With that, you have successfully gathered the entire Barbarian armor set!
