Dynasty Warriors: Origins is structured with a sizable world map, yet it does not feature an open-world gameplay style. Initially, the areas players can traverse are limited, offering straightforward navigation. However, as players advance through the main storyline, more provinces become available, often resulting in a more prolonged and complex navigation experience.
This complexity increases due to the constant unlocking of new skirmishes and requests, which can compel players to retrace steps across extensive areas of the map. Fortunately, mastering the fast travel feature in Dynasty Warriors: Origins can significantly streamline the gameplay experience. This becomes especially useful for those striving to complete all available side quests.
Mastering Fast Travel in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
In Dynasty Warriors: Origins, players can utilize the fast travel system to access various Waymarks by navigating to the Map screen. Before players can fast travel to a Waymark, they must first unlock it. This is achieved by approaching the Waymark marker on the map and holding the X button for PlayStation or the A button for Xbox. Once unlocked, this specific Waymark will appear on the map screen, allowing players easy access whenever they desire.
While not engaged in battle, players can access the map by interacting with an already unlocked Waymark or simply pausing the game and using the shoulder buttons to navigate to the Map menu. PlayStation users have an additional advantage, as pressing the DualSense touchpad while on the world map allows for swift access to the map.
When players open the map screen, hovering over any unlocked Waymark reveals nearby critical locations or battles. For those searching for specific missions, pressing the Square button on PlayStation or the X button on Xbox will toggle relevant information. Players can further utilize the Triangle (PlayStation) or Y (Xbox) buttons to cycle through available battles and locations. Selecting their desired destination allows them to quickly navigate to the closest Waymark.
