Unlocking ‘Has the Moon Come Up?’ in Genshin Impact is a hidden achievement that players can earn by defeating the Secret Source Automaton Configuration Device and destroying both of its Accretion Mechanisms. Fortunately, this task is fairly straightforward, and any player equipped with either Kachina or Xilonen can successfully achieve it. Completing this will earn you five Primogems, making it a worthwhile endeavor.

Location and Preparation for the Secret Source Automaton Configuration Device

To find the Secret Source Automaton Configuration Device, players should navigate to an underground cave in Ameyalco Waters. You can teleport to the waypoint situated to the south of Teticpac Peak and then head south until you spot a sizeable hole beneath a wooden bridge. Proceed down this hole, and keep moving forward until you encounter the boss.

Before you engage the Secret Source Automaton Configuration Device, ensure you have Kachina or Xilonen in your party. As of version 5.1, these are the only two characters that can maneuver on Solid Phlogiston.

Fortunately, Kachina is a free character available during the Natlan Archon Quest, so all players who have completed the quest should have her. It’s important to note that her character level doesn’t impact this challenge; she is solely needed for climbing the Solid Phlogiston, not for combat.

Once you initiate the challenge against the Secret Source Automaton Configuration Device, wait for it to summon the large orange rock crystals that appear in the center of the battlefield. Immediately switch to Kachina or Xilonen, climb any available pillar, and take out the Accretion Mechanism. Repeat this on the other rock crystal.

Completing this sequence will unlock the ‘Has the Moon Come Up?’ achievement the first time you do it, granting five Primogems in Genshin Impact. Additionally, the boss will be temporarily stunned during this process, providing an excellent opportunity to unleash your most powerful attacks and secure a victory. Defeating the Secret Source Automaton Configuration Device will yield the Gold-Inscribed Secret Source Core, an item necessary for Xilonen’s ascension.
