Introduction to Rubber Armor in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
If you’ve journeyed through Thunderhead Isles or explored the Faron Zonai Ruins in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you might be familiar with the frustrations of lightning strikes. Luckily, equipping the Rubber Armor set provides excellent shock resistance, making it essential for navigating thunderstorms in the game.
Overview of Rubber Armor Acquisition
Gathering the Rubber Armor set is relatively straightforward, primarily involving exploration of various caves across Hyrule, which also offer valuable resources. Below, you’ll find a guide on how to obtain the complete Rubber Armor set in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
For a visual guide on locating each piece, refer to this interactive map:
Acquiring the Rubber Armor Helm
Your quest for the Rubber Armor begins with locating the Helm, situated in the Sarjon Cave, found in the southern Faron region. This cave lies south of the Faron Zonai Ruins and north of the Lakeside Stable.

Reaching the cave may require effort, but it’s definitely worthwhile. A handy tip is to glide from the Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower to the cave entrance, which is blocked by vines. Use a sharp weapon to cut through these obstacles.

Once inside Sarjon Cave, be prepared for a watery environment. Swim through, utilizing ledges to regain stamina as necessary, and be sure to navigate around additional vines along the way. Watch out for lurking Horroblins; a well-aimed arrow will send them to the depths.

Eventually, you’ll encounter a log. Utilize it or any Zonai devices available to construct a raft since swimming any further is challenging without proper support. Be vigilant as you navigate through waterfalls and avoid facing the Rock Like. Keep progressing until you discover an altar with a chest holding the Rubber Armor Helm!
Finding the Rubber Armor Chest Piece
Next, move on to collect the Rubber Armor chest piece, which can be found in Whistling Hill Cave, situated just north of Teniten Shrine. This location is marked on the map below:

This cave is easily accessible from the Hyrule Field region. To gain entry, you will need to clear the entrance using Yunobo’s charge ability, a hammer, or some Bomb Fruit.
Once inside, proceed forward until you reach a crossroads. Take the right path and cut through the vines, where you’ll find Bokoblin Skeletons below—be sure to defeat them first!

Continue straight ahead into the next chamber where more vines await. To the left, a breakable rock reveals ore, but instead, climb onto the platform to the right.

At the top, you’ll encounter a Rock Like. You can choose to defeat it, but it’s equally viable to wait for it to finish its attack before slipping past.

After passing the Rock Like, another breakable rock lies ahead. Destroy it to unveil a water-filled section of the cave, where a Shock Like is waiting. Dispatch this foe and then break the rock behind it to reveal an altar with the Rubber Armor chest piece.

At this altar, you’ll find the chest containing the Rubber Armor chest piece. Congratulations on your progress! Feel free to explore the rest of the cave or head toward the final piece of the Rubber Armor set.
Obtaining the Rubber Armor Tights
Lastly, let’s set about acquiring the Rubber Armor Tights, located in Horon Lagoon Cave, nested within the Lanaryu region. This cave is in close proximity to the Zora Domain, right on the coast of the Lanaryu Sea, southeast of East Reservoir Lake, and west of the Brynna Plains.

The cave is most easily accessed by gliding from the Water Temple sky island. Keep an eye peeled for the entrance, which appears similar to a chasm that you’ll need to dive into.
Once inside, you will land in water. Take care of the Horroblin lurking near the entrance to avoid interference. Swim deeper into the cave and take a moment at a nearby rock to regenerate your stamina.

Next, swim toward a breakable rock while avoiding spikes in the water that could harm Link. Once you reach the rock, use a hammer, Bomb Fruit, or Yunobo to destroy it.

Upon proceeding, you will discover another altar housing a chest containing the Rubber Armor Tights. Voila! You’ve now gathered the entire Rubber Armor set.
