Guide to Acquiring Ferrium Ore in Arknights: Endfield

Ferrium Ore is a pivotal resource in Arknights: Endfield, especially during the early stages of gameplay. This essential material is required to craft blue-rarity gear items, significantly enhancing the capabilities of your Operators. Fortunately, Ferrium is relatively accessible, though many players may find themselves in situations where they need to forge Ferrium-based equipment without having enough of the mineral at hand. This guide will outline optimal locations for acquiring Ferrium early in the game.

Locations for Ferrium in Endfield

Your first opportunity to find Ferrium is located adjacent to the Core AIC Area in Valley IV. From the AIC, head eastward and follow the road leading to the upper plateau. You will spot the Ferrium field near a teleportation point in that region.

Relying on just one Ferrium field is often insufficient for your crafting requirements. To gather more Ferrium, you will need to advance to the Originium Science Park, which boasts three Ferrium Ore fields near its entrance along the road. To access the Originium Science Park and locate the Ferrium fields shown in the accompanying map, players must progress through Act 1 until prompted to visit the science park.

Mining Ferrium Ore in Endfield

Mining Ferrium Ore isn’t possible with standard automated miners. To extract this valuable mineral, you must utilize an Electric Mining Rig Mk. II. This advanced tool can be accessed by unlocking the Mining III node in the AIC Index menu (the factory unlocks tree).Note that progressing through the main story is a prerequisite for unlocking this tier of the Basic AIC Index.

To initiate automatic mining in Endfield, you will first need to expand your power network by constructing and connecting Power Relays across the game map.

Creating an Electric Mining Rig Mk. II requires the following materials:

1 Portable Originium Rig (which necessitates 5 Origocrusts)
10 Ferrium Parts

Be prepared to manually mine Ferrium at the outset before delivering the ores to a Refining Unit and Fitting Unit. The Electric Mining Rig Mk. II boasts a higher output rate but demands 5 additional power units to operate. If you intend to replace all Electric Mining Rigs with this upgraded version, ensure you first expand both your power capacity and power production capabilities within Endfield.
