The Olympic Update for Hades 2 introduces Olives as one of the exciting new ingredients in this intense roguelike action game. These ingredients are essential for creating various recipes that will aid Melinoe in her quest to thwart the Titan Chronos from causing chaos.

However, acquiring Olives requires some effort. This guide will provide comprehensive information on how to obtain Olives in Hades 2.

Locating Olives in Hades 2

Like many other whole ingredients in the game, Olives must be cultivated. To do this, players first need to find Olive Branches, which function similarly to seeds of other plants and can be dug up from soil patches. These branches are also location-specific, found exclusively in the Mount Olympus region.

Introduced in the Olympic Update, Mount Olympus is the third area on the Surface beyond the Rift of Thessaly. Players must defeat the cyclops Polyphemus in the initial area and overcome the Rail of Adamant-wielding Eris to clear the way for Melinoe to access Olympus. Once players reach this region, they can utilize their Silver Spade tool to unearth Olive Branches from soil mounds.

Gathering these branches can be time-consuming, requiring up to 24 encounters, so players should exercise patience. If they find themselves short on inventory space, they can utilize the Flourishing Soil Incantation at the Cauldron to expand their soil slots.

Once players successfully obtain Olives, they can be harvested and stored in their backpack. These reagents mainly serve purposes in the Cauldron for various Incantations. For instance, the “Attending A Faithful Beast”Incantation necessitates Tears (x1) and Olives (x3), providing a boost to resources gathered by an Animal Familiar during gameplay.
