Guide on Using Rotten Eye of the Witness in Woolhaven DLC for Cult of the Lamb

In the world of Cult of the Lamb, Plimbo is an intriguing NPC located within the Smuggler’s Sanctuary, which players can access shortly after their initial encounter with Anchordeep. Characterized as a smuggler and sailor, Plimbo frequently mentions his partner and mother-in-law, yet neither of these characters appears in the game, adding a layer of mystery to his persona.

At the Smuggler’s Sanctuary, players can procure tarot cards and decorative items themed around Anchordeep. However, Plimbo’s primary role is as a merchant for the Eye of the Witness. Each Eye of the Witness can be traded for a Holy Talisman fragment, essential for unlocking various abilities within the Fleece. Initially, players can offer him up to four Eyes. As the Lamb conquers additional bosses, they can hand over four more Eyes, culminating in a total of eight Holy Talisman fragments—equivalent to the potential acquisition of two new Fleeces.

A noteworthy plot point occurs when the Lamb progresses successfully in Woolhaven. After presenting Plimbo with a Rotten Eye of the Witness, he expresses his disdain and outright rejects the item, compelling players to discover alternative methods to utilize this item within the Woolhaven DLC.

How to use the Rotten Eye of the Witness in Woolhaven DLC

To make use of the Rotten Eye of the Witness in the Cult of the Lamb’s Woolhaven DLC, players are required to locate the Stranger in Spore Grotto. Although it is suggested that Plimbo would accept the Eye, players will find upon interaction that he refuses to make the transaction, instead directing them toward a buyer in Spore Grotto. It is important to note that you can engage with the Stranger without needing to consult Plimbo first.

The Stranger can be found tucked away in the shadows at the top-right corner of the initial chamber in Spore Grotto. Engaging with this enigmatic figure will initiate the Talking to Strangers quest, which involves delivering two Rotten Eyes of the Witness to the Stranger.

Upon providing the first Rotten Eye of the Witness, players will obtain the Idol of the Immolated Relic. Designated as fragile, this relic can only be activated once, converting all hearts into Molten Hearts that set foes ablaze when the Lamb is struck. The second Rotten Eye unlocks a similarly themed Relic called the Veil of the Unmoved, which replaces hearts with Frozen Hearts that inflict cold damage to adversaries upon contact.

Both of these unique Relics are exclusive to the Woolhaven DLC, enhancing gameplay dynamics while providing new strategic options.
